Hello thankyouforyourhelp,

Welcome to the Tomcoyote forum! I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems.
HijackThis logs can take some time to research, so please be patient with me. I know that you need
your computer working as quickly as possible, and I will work hard to help see that happens.

In order to help me help you, please observe the following while we work:
  • If you don't know, stop and ask! Don't continue, we don't want to start all over again!
  • Understand that cleaning your computer can sometimes take multiple passes/posts,
and it's important to follow the steps as listed including re-running scans as listed
  • Please reply to this thread, do not start another.

If you can do those 3 things, everything should go smoothly

---------------------------------------------

Your are running HiJackThis from a temp folder, we need it to be in a safe place to ensure backup are saved.
Just leave the one in the Temp folder we will take care of it later If you have created a shortcut on your desktop Please delete it now.

Download Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2

  • Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
  • Double click on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.
  • Next Click the Install button
  • When installed it should open automatically.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
  • Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
  • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
  • DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
NOTE* Delete the HJTInstall.exe (the installer) So you won't have 2 icons that look alike on your desktop.

-----------------------------------------------

Note* ignore the verison in pictures I have not updated yet the buttons for unistall list Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 are the same.
Make a uninstall list using HijackThis
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

1.Start HijackThis

Posted Image

2. Click on the Open the Misc tool section button
3. Click on the Misc Tools button

Posted Image

4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.

You will now be presented with a screen similar to the one below:

Posted Image

5. Click on the Save list... button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save list button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here on your next reply. Note: please uncheck word wrap under format in notepad

Post HJT Uninstall list in next reply

-------------------------------------------------------

Please post these in next reply to this thread by using the Posted Image button
