OK. Fixed the one with HJT… There is no file in my program files called WinAntiVirus Pro 2007.. And, I bought Panda Internet Security some time ago. I tried to install on the comp and it wouldn't let me because it said I had ez anti virus. I deleted everything I could find to get rid of EZ but it still says I have that on my computer. The only way I was ever able to use Panda was the free internet scan. Wasted 60ish bucks because I never did figure out how to get rid of EZ so I could install Panda We used to have an Hp printer but then got a new one that is not HP and unistalled the HP printer…
I also used a system search as well as using Windows Explorer to find W A V. to make sure I just wasn't overlooking it. I searched all files including hidden files and folders and it's not coming up anywhere…
Don't worry about the Win AV folder. It was probably deleted whenever that program was removed. Just the registry entry was still present as shown in HJT. Should be gone now right?

OK…for the error. This line in your HJT log is attempting to start up that HP printer.

O4 - Global Startup: HP Digital Imaging Monitor.lnk = C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqtra08.exe

So you can use HJT to remove that line if the HP printer is no longer installed. That should stop the error.

Now, for your Antivirus, do you still want to install Panda? If so let me know and I can try to help you do that. If not then we should remove the Panda service. That would be done like this:

Click on Start->Run and type in each of these commands one at a time and click OK.

sc stop PavPrSrv
sc delete PavPrSrv

Now use HJT to remove this line if still present:

O23 - Service: Panda Process Protection Service (PavPrSrv) - Panda Software - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Panda Software\PavShld\pavprsrv.exe

Reboot, post a new HJT log, and let me know how it's going.
Yes, I would still like to install Panda… Should I get rid of cavrid.exe and cavtray.exe since they are both for the e trust ez antivirus? (I just found that out)
OK let's take things one step at a time. Please post a new HJT log since we have made changes since the last one I saw. Is the error gone now? Don't delete anything yet with HJT on the EZ AV. There are several other processes/items associated with it but you should try to uninstall it using Add or Remove Programs first. Was that how you tried to do it last time?
Here's the new log

And oh my god you don't even understand the hell I went through trying to get rid of that EZ AV…There isn't a single file left on my computer that I can find that has the EZ title. And I did take it out with add/remove programs.
Well this EZ AV is not so EZ! to uninstall is it now? This seems to be a common issue with this AV.

I would start by trying to use Add or Remove Programs again. Then post a fresh HJT log. We will probably have to do some more manual work.

Has the error disappeared?
Hpqtra error is gone.
Still have the notepads though

Here's a log just in case you still want it

It's not in the add/remove to take out….No files or programs at all called e-trust ez on the whole computer

I'm confused too. Is there anything under Computer Associates or Yahoo for an Antivirus. Looking at your last installed programs list I don't see any of them? Open up your current antivirus program that is running. What is it called?

Still have the notepads though

What do you mean. Does 2 instances of Notepad open up when you start your computer? And they are blank? Please give a little more detail.
Yes I have Yahoo AV. When I turn the comp off and back on two different Notepad windows open up automatically. They both say the same thing. [.ShellClassInfo] LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21787

Yes I have Yahoo AV.

So if you want to install Panda AV uninstall that first using Add or Remove Programs.

Interesting, I'll look into that.
I assume Verizon is your DSL provider? I would check with them as I assume it was part of the internet package you received. You can probably remove the entire package and then go to Panda, with a free firewall. That should cover you. But I would check with your ISP first. I'm not familiar with the Verizon/Yahoo AV product.
