Ive been getin blue stop errors every 10 mins and im not sure whats causing it ive looked on the web and it may be a virus or corupt windows. Whenever im on my computer the fan goes crazy and the comp freezes and the screen goes black and then it will go back to normal until i move the mouse and bam..its black again then it will go to the blue stop error screen. I thought maybe you would have a look at my hijack this log and see if you see anything suspicious (spellcheck) Any help would be great.
Thanks
Stacie

Howdy StacieCakes,

No infection showing, though in truth infection would have nothing to do with fan operation in any way (or likely any software involvement). You have SpywareGuard, which can be a very restrictive tool when monitoring processes on a system. Have you tried disabling this to check for improvement? I do see the system has been generating error reports there. Let's do two checks on this, but eventually it might be something to get assistance with at our Other Computer Problems forum.

Go Here and download Silent Runners to your desktop. Run it, and post back here the log it creates. If your AV queries the script, allow it to run. It's not malicious. It will create a file named Startup Programs, and will notify when the scan is complete. Copy the log from the Startup Programs file back here.

And Go to Start - Run, type eventvwr.msc (and Enter). Click on the System icon to expand the list in the right column. Look through that list for Errors posted at the same time you get your shutdown issues. Copy/paste back here any items of significance you see.

You can post what you find back here by double-clicking on each Error/Warning in the log. In the upper corner of that display is an icon (a sorta double file icon) you can click to copy the information to your clipboard, then open a Notepad text and Paste the information, and repeat that to develop a log to post back here for review. Try to avoid the temptation to post back just any events (and there can be a lot of them showing), but instead only those related to these issues by time/date.
Heya hunni, im so sorry ive taken so long to get back to you ive been awayfor a few days. Thnk you so much for your help.

Looks like you have one Norton service running here but no Norton. This can occur if another protective software was "protecting" during the uninstall, and here if it was installed at that time SpywareGuard is an excellent first choice (guessing). SpywareGuard itself is a very intrusive monitoring/blocking software that here alone could be stopping a desired function from occurring. Let's try this for now, as so far nothing is indicating infection.

Assuming you do have a partially uninstalled Norton here go here and follow the steps to run the Norton Removal Tool. Be sure when doing this SpywareGuard is completely disabled.

Right click the running icon of Spywareguard, it will open the program.
Then go to Menu, file, exit.
Then confirm the program is closed.

When done reboot, and keep Spywareguard disabled and check for improvements. Post back a progress report on that if you would.
