Philips Voip0801/b10 Problem
3 min read
Hi
I am trying to install this phone on my computer for use with Skype. Software appears to have installed ok and the versions of drivers for skypeand handset are those recommended by philips. When i go to start up the phone I get an error message saying that the voip.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. Any ideas how to fix?
Thanks
Welcome to TC jabula,
Did you check the phone software for Virus and Spyware before you installed it?
Have you got plenty of HD space for the installation?
I suggest you uninstall the software, use the Windows Cleanup Utility and then reinstall and see if that helps.
Here is the site for the utiity: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secu…p-Utility.shtml
Your original installation could have been a bad install so it is worth trying. Also make sure you have the latest version of Skype as it seems to update almost monthly these days.
Good luck and kind regards,
Hi
Thanks for prompt reply. Downloaded Wndows Cleanup Utility and installe. Used this to remove Voip080 and then reinstalled. Still have same problem as described before. have run nspybot and scanned computer with AVG7, both fullyupdated and no problems picked up. Any further suggestions gratefull received.
thanks
Sorry that me earlier post did not work for you.
You have not advised your HD space available for the installation or if you are scanning the download software before installation for Virus and Antispyware.
Please always uninstall through Add and Remove, then and only then use the Windows Cleanup Utility - I apologise for not making that clearer in my last post.
How many MB's is the software for the Phillips Voip080? I have researched the site for it, but it does not tell me.
What version of skype are you using and is it the Beta version? The latest and correct Skype version for you is 3.2.0.175.
Other than the above I do not have another idea for you to correct the problem, but need answers to my questions.
Alternatively
You could do a PCPitstop test:
http://www.pcpitstop.com/ and post it over on the PCPitstop Forum for analyzing. You need to register with a valid email address to run a full test.
OR download HiJackthis from the following site making sure you install to your C:\Drive:
http://www.download.com/HijackThis/3000-8022_4-10379544.html and post the log on the appropriate forum on the following site. http://forums.tomcoyote.org/HijackThis_Log…emoval_f27.html
The forums are very busy so patience on both is of the essence. The experts are all volunteers, will attend to your posts when your turn comes. Please do not answer your own logs in frustration as that will only make the experts think someone else has.
Good luck and let us know how you get on. I would start with the PCPitstop scan at this stage.
