Start - Run - (type)sfc /scannow - Enter <-- notice the required space between "c" and "/"
May even benefit from running SFC more than once, if missing or corrupted files are detected in the first run.
Then move on to dealing with the MS OFFice utilities.....
Quoted from previous thread:
The most reliable method of dealing with an MS Office Application program malfunction (such as your current PPS problem) is to completely uninstall it, run Disk Cleanup. Defrag, then Reinstall the desired MS Office Application.
Run Disk Cleanup and Defrag after the fresh installation as well.
If you continue to have slow performance and/or other symptoms, run a Pit Test and post a fresh TechExpress.

I don't think it is available on MS Works.
You can Download a PPS, PPT, POT "reader" to allow you to open and view .pps files.
Google is your friend for searching for such applications, but I'd suggest the one available from Microsoft.

Maybe I read the list incorrectly, but thought you also had AVG Anti)Virus.
You look just fine on that regard now.
uncheck hide protected files box
warned that deleting these files can be dangerous
The above is a standard MS warning, offered because there are files that MS typically hides from ordinary view, so that an overzealous owner/user does not accidentally delete important/required System Files. In this case, it is a safe and recommended procedure. It is not Required in your case.
