Hi everyone,
My cousin bought a new laptop with Vista Basic. He really did not like it so he bought Windows XP and told me to reformat his harddrive and install XP on it. I did everything and when I go to Toshiba.com to download the drivers for the Laptop, the only drivers available is for Vista OS. When i d/l and install it on the laptop the drivers will not install because they are for Windows Vista. What can I do so i can get the drivers for this Toshiba Laptop work with a Windows XP operating system?
Thanks And Regards,
Larry
Hi yousamook
maybe that laptop model only comes with vista installed so thats the drivers it sends you to download? or are you putting in a tag or service number maybe for the laptop? xp native drivers will work with alot of hardware. you could id hardware in windows then go to for example the video card manuf. to get drivers for xp. only problem with that is laptops might use "custom' drivers. really the best place to get laptop drivers is from the laptop manuf. website. You should contact Toshiba support to see what they can suggest about it.

with this laptop (possibly having been built specifically for Vista OS) might use "custom' drivers. really the best place to get laptop drivers is from the laptop manuf. website. You should contact Toshiba support to see what they can suggest
