[legality]

Virus scans of my system complete with no problems and no detections. However, all antispyware program scans cause a Page Fault shutdown within a minute or so of the scan. I've watched very carefully as the scan proceeds and I'm pretty certain the fault occurs during a scan of the registry. The problem seems to have started concurrently with the installation of my new Canon Pixma MP530 printer. The Page Fault screen reads as follows:

“A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

When I reboot, I get the notification that the computer has recovered from a serious problem and the details point to a possible driver problem. I checked the Device Manager for problems and there are none. It may be I will have to uninstall my new all-in-one printer, but I would like to avoid this if possible. I did consult with Canon's techs and they are not aware of this problem.

Did you try and uninstall the printer? Do you still get the error after uninstalling the printer?

No but that doesn't mean anything. Alot of the bad guys don't show in the HJT logs.
Wouldn't it just make sense to uninstall the printer if that error started after you installed it?

Yes, I guess that would make sense. Let's assume that uninstalling the multifunction printer solves the problem, what happens when I reinstall the machine? Will the same problem recur? Also, I forgot to mention that the error report I received upon reboot after the PageFault shut down referred me to the Dell Driver Reset Tool. Do you think that maneuver may help? Thanks.
