Okay i have just reformatted and the only things ive installed are Spy Sweeper McAfee and World of Warcraft. I have all the latest updates from windows/java/etc. Now in event view I found this..
Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 bf1b9686, parameter3 b7fdc9b4, parameter4 00000000.
Could someone please tell me if that triggers the reboots/freezes? And if it does could you please tell me a way to fix that if possible? :x
I have just reformatted keep in mind
Thanks in advance, 1337forum user
Take a look into your Device Manager.
Any yellow or red warnings?
Have you added any hardware recently?
Have you upgraded a hardware Driver recently?
Added more RAM? <– just as a precaution run MemTest86 for at least one full cycle to test the integrity of your RAM.
Have you Run CHECKDISK on your C:\ Hard Drive?
Tell us more about your machine physically…
Configuration of Drives/partitions
Amount of RAM
Video adapter
Heat and voltages (you can use Everest 2.20 free from MajorGeeks)
Definitely need more information before launching into any recommendations.
Best Regards
I was sorta in a rush typing up that but lately ive been getting ALOT of different BSOD's ill add a link to megaupload so you can see my minidumps also i have One stick of 512 RAM and i believe it is perfectly fine as i ran memtest86 overnight all passes no hardware recently hardware driver i havnt upgraded because i just reinstalled all the same drivers i had as before i reformatted my computer also did a pcpitstop test everything was good CHKDISK found nothing bad if by video adapter you mean graphics card i got a Gefore FX 5700. Device manager has no red warnings no red either i do not know what the intgrity of my ram is let alone what that means
CPU temp is 41C 106F
cooling fan for the CPU spins at 3500RPM http://www.megaupload.com/?d=03NPSVR5 is my minidumps if anymore info is needed just tell me its 3 in the morning so i may have missed some info cya all later
Good that you ran MemTest86 on your single 512mb stick of RAM and found no errors. <– that's what I was referring to.
Good that you've checked Device Manager and found no warnings.
Good that CHECKDISK found no bad-clusters. <– did you run chkdsk /f /r as indicated in the post above.
(Running "error-checking" from Drive - Properties - Tools is not the same as chkdsk /f /r)
These system failure errors are usually isolated and occur randomly.
As such, the best way for the Windows operating system to deal with them is to automatically restart.
However, that doesn't give the owner/user much information about what caused the restart.
You can disable the automatic restart behavior.
Disabling auto restart will result in you receiving BSOD error alerts.
We can benefit from reviewing the Error Code(s)
(I'm not much good with minidumps, though I can occasionally pick out a clue.
It takes an experienced wizard to really understand and get useable addresses and faults extracted.
So please just post the BSOD Error Codes "the entire Error Code please")
Follow these steps:
Go to Start/Control Panel/System/Advanced/Startup&Recovery(Settings).
In the System Failure section, de-select the Automatically Restart check box, and click OK.
To enable the changes, click OK in the System Properties dialog box.
This change configures the system to halt after encountering a system failure error, which allows you to investigate the problem error in more detail. You will then have to manually restart the system.
From the information you've provided so far - Error code 1000008e - the most likely culprit is a Device Driver.
(But you've already confirmed that Device Manager has issued no warnings.)
Still Device Driver is the most "likely" problem.
Some Driver is being called, before the system is ready to handle it.
Have you gone to the MotherBoard manufacturer's website to download/install any/all updated Chipset Drivers?
Have you installed DirectX 9.0c from the Microsoft download site?
Next likely culprits are:
Heat
Ram
Video graphics card (intermittent physical failure and/or Driver corruption) <– check for an updated Driver
Do you have a spare Video Card that you could swap in to see if it makes a difference?
Ethernet or wireless Network Interface Card/Adapter Driver <– Download a fresh driver installation, then uninstall/reinstall.
File Structure - bad-cluster - faults.
Heat: Have you opened up the tower case to blow out the dust-bunnies?
41*C is not "killer" but it is higher that I would prefer to see, though many/most folks would say that it is just fine.
You will also obtain additional Error Code information from - Event Viewer
Please post any persisting Error Code indicators from Event Viewer: (just the dode for items in Red)
Application
Security
System
Please post the TechExpress Link from your PCPitstop Full Tests, so I can get a overview of your machine.
Okay I fixed the BSOD's but now I have this other problem. My internet will randomly disconnect and i have to manually click repair only to have it disconnect a few minutes later so I have to restart the computer and then it will sometimes start up not connected so I have to reboot again untill is starts up connected and it will go out at any time so I wonder if you have a idea of whats going on now?
Clear and renew your IPconfig
Start - Run - (type)cmd - Enter
In the DOS box, (type)
Ipconfig /release - Enter
Ipconfig /renew - Enter
Ipconfig /flushDNS - Enter
Then power-down your Modem/Router to clear their internal settings.
Then turn your Modem/Router back on and Reboot your computer.
Best Regards
THANK YOU….but now i wasnt sure if i had fixed the BSOD's so i actully go to play WoW hardcore now like i used to before…WHAT DO I GET? a bsod. "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" whatever that means totally confused here :/ thanks for ALL your help so far Doug, this is far by the best site ive came to for my computer problems
