Our computer was fine, but then it started to act up. Logging in after turning it on can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 12 minutes (this morning). No need to rush, I know one of the wonderful people here who understand the HJT language will get to me when they can. Thanks in advance whoever it is!

Howdy C.J.,


There is at least one undesirable showing here, and that often means more as well, so let's start repairs.


Go to Start > Run and type

cmd

and OK. Type the below commands and hit "Enter" after each line

sc stop DirectX common
sc delete DirectX common

Type Exit to close.



Then Download ComboFix.exe from here to your desktop, and click the downloaded file to run the repair. I am not sure how F-Secure will react to the use of this, so if you experience any alerts or issues try disabling F-Secure temporarily to allow ComboFix to complete it's work.

When the command window opens, select 1 (and Enter). Allow the scan to run. When completed a text window will appear - please copy/paste the contents back here. This log can also be found at C:\ComboFix.txt.

A caution - do not touch your mouse/keyboard until the scan has completed. The scan will temporarily disable your desktop, and if interrupted may leave your desktop disabled. If this occurs, please reboot to restore the desktop.


Then post back that log along with a new HijackThis log please.
