Hello,

My computer has been running slow I was wondering if anyone could see something wrong using my Hijack Log. Please take your time, any help or suggestions are appreciated. Please be aware I am not highly computer literate. Thanks.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I'm not seeing anything bad in your log. I suggest you also read this if it's still slow after the below suggested fix.

Click Start > Run > and type in:

services.msc

Click OK.

In the services window find (CLTNetCnService)
Right click and choose "Properties". On the "General" tab under "Service
Status" click the "Stop" button to stop the service. Beside "Startup Type"
in the dropdown menu select "Disabled". Click Apply then OK. Exit the
Services utility.



Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.


(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time.


Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Sorry it took so long for me to respond. I went out of town for work and I just got back. Anyway I followed the steps you laid out, and everything went well except for one thing. I was unable to (CLTNetCnService) when I Click Start > Run > and type in:services.msc. But I did everything else and I ran Hijack and here is the log. As far as my computer, it seems to be running better, just for some reason it seemed to load slow, and sometimes just lag a bit.

Once again, sorry for the delay in response. Your help has been great, and my computer is moving faster. It just seems as times my computer slows down to a point, and just lags. I think it could be from too many programs being ran at the same time, but I am not sure. I do not want to take up too much of your time, so I will post my latest log, and let you see if things are pretty much clean. Open HiJackThis then:

1. Click "Misc Tools"
2. Click "Delete a NT Service"

In the Delete window, enter, CLTNetCnService and press OK. OK any prompts,



Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Adobe Reader Speed Launcher] "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\Reader_sl.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTTask.exe" -atboottime

First of all I need to apologize. After all the help you offered me, I forgot to post my last result or log. After greater detail I finally found the line CLTNetCnService and took care of that. Then I did everything you stated and things are going much better. I still think I have too many programs running at start-up, and things that I do not need, but other than that things are much better. Below is a Hi-Jack log I just took. In my eyes (and remember I am not as knowledgeable as you) thing look better. But I will leave you to be the final judge. Thank you for everything so far.

Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.
