Winantispy2007 !please Help!

I have been attacked twice by this program in the past week. I used Ccleaner, Spybot-Search and Destroy, and counter spy all in safe mode. I have deleted as much of the WinAntiSpy2007 folder as I can, but the dll files and some others will not delete. I have also deleted all register values related that I can find. What else should I do? I will copy my Hijack This log.

Hi Paul 99,
I have read your log and you have the vundo infection.

Lets start here

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

There will be more to do once I see the 2 logs

FIRST:
Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.

Download Here:

This program is for XP and Windows 2000 only
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
Boot into safe mode, here is how:
* Click Start.
* Select Shutdown.
* Select Restart and click OK.
* During restart, hold down the F8 key on your keyboard until the Windows Startup menu appears.
* If your PC starts beeping then release the key for a few seconds before holding it down again.
* Select Safe Mode from the Startup menu, and press the Enter button on your keyboard.
* Windows should start in Safe Mode. If Windows doesn't restart in Safe Mode then please try again.

Next turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system".
Here is how:
* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.
Go to start > run and type services.msc. Press the enter key.
Search for the following services. Double click to select stop if they are running. Set the startup type to disabled. Click apply/ok for each service you disable.

I was able to delete C:\WINDOWS\system32\gjgtwhse.dll after going into safe mode.

I am not able to delete the C:\Program Files\WinAntiSpyWare2007 Folder. It has 4 files that I can't remove. Here is a list of them.

msvcp71.dll
msvcr71.dll
shellext.dll
shellext.xml

I also still get an option to scan with WinAntiSpyware 2007 if a right click on any file. The program is no longer listed in Add/Remove programs.

What is the best thing to do from here? I will have to finish this tomorrow since it is very late here.

Hi Paul 99, I didn't give up on you I just need a little more time. Whats making it hard is that you deleted a lot of the parts that would uninstall it. So I now must make sure the original virus and bad stuff are gone before we work on the removal of WinAntiSpyWare2007. So bare with me and I will be back. mschroe919

Hi Paul 99, One question, did you install winpop? Located here: C:\Program Files\WinPop\winpop.exe if so or not let me know please. I am not too sure there isn't a problem with it too. mschroe919

Lets work on making sure your pc is clean.
Which is most important here.

Download AVG Anti-Spyware from HERE and save that file to your
desktop.
This is a 30 day trial of the program
  • Once you have downloaded ewido anti-spyware, locate the icon on the desktop
    and double-click it to launch the set up program.
  • Once the setup is complete you will need run ewido and update the definition
    files.
  • On the main screen select the icon "Update" then select the "
    Update now    " link.
    • Next select the "Start Update" button, the update will start and a
      progress bar will show the updates being installed.
  • Once the update has completed select the "Scanner" icon at the top of
    the screen, then select the "Settings" tab.
  • Once in the Settings screen click on "Recommended actions" and then
    select "Quarantine".
  • Under "Reports"
    • Select "Automatically generate report after every scan"
    • Un-Select "Only if threats were found"
Close ewido anti-spyware, Do Not run a scan just yet, we will shortly.
  1. Reboot your computer into SafeMode. You can do this by restarting
    2. your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears.

    Use your up arrow key to highlight SafeMode then hit enter.
    IMPORTANT: Do not open any other windows or
    programs while ewido is scanning, it may interfere with the scanning proccess:
  2. Lauch ewido-anti-spyware by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
  3. Select the "Scanner" icon at the top and then the "Scan" tab
    4. then click on "Complete System Scan".
  4. ewido will now begin the scanning process, be patient this may take a little
    5. time.
    Once the scan is complete do the following:
  5. If you have any infections you will prompted, then select "Apply all
    6. actions"
  6. Next select the "Reports" icon at the top.
  7. Select the "Save report as" button in the lower left hand of the
    8. screen and save it to a text file on your system (make sure to remember where
    you saved that file, this is important).
  8. Close ewido and reboot your system back into Normal Mode.
    9. NEXT:
    Please perform an online scan with Internet Explorer at
    http://www.kaspersky.com/service?chapter=161739400

    * Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan
    Answer Yes, when prompted to install an ActiveX component.
    The program will then begin downloading the latest definition files.
    Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
    Locate the Scan Settings button & configure to:
    Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
    Extended
    Scan Options:
    Scan Archives
    Scan Mail Bases
    Click OK & have it scan My Computer
    Once the scan is complete, it will display if your system has been infected. It does not provide an option to clean/disinfect. We only require a report from it.
    Click the Save as Text button to save the file to your desktop so that you may post it in your next reply

    **Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the accept button of the license, click on the Zoom tool located at the right bottom of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license accepted, reset to 100%[/bcolor]
    I hope this will kill the bad stuff.
    Post a new HJT log and the Kaspersky text and post the
    results of the AVG Anti-Spyware scan.
