Do you mean that you are unable to open it once you've downloaded it?
You probably need a utility such as WinZip to extract the program from the zip file.
It has an evaluation version which you can use for a month or so
Free trial of WinZip at http://www.winzip.com
Here are a couple of tutorials:
WinZip Tutorial
Using Winzip Tutorial
After unzipping the file to a folder of your choice, you'll end up with the file itself, which is Hijackthis.exe, and that's the one you'll need to doubleclick.

That, or you need to update your copy of the VB runtime files.
A Required .dll File, Msvbvm60.dll, Was Not Found.
If you get this error while running or installing a program, it means that you need to upgrade the version of Visual Basic installed on your computer to version 6. You can download what you need at this link: http://download.micr.../vbrun60sp5.exe
"MSCOMCTL.OCX" cannot be found
