Ie 7 Doesn't Work

IE 7 opens, but won't open links. I doesn't work when I open with no add-ons, but does work in safe mode. How can I make it work in normal mode? Fire Fox works fine, except when active x is needed.

Welcome to the forum, we get a little overwhelmed with logs most times. You have a clean log, no malware or viruses I can see. You can try a couple of things.

Lets clean out the clutter.

Download and Install CCleaner
If you don't want the Yahoo Toolbar, be sure to uncheck it during installation
  • Click on Run Cleaner
Tutorial for CCleaner



Depending on how your manufacturer set up your system, you may or may not need the Windows XP CD. If you have a I386 folder on your C:\ drive you may not need the disk.
  • Click Start>Run
  • Type in sfc /scannow, hit Enter.
  • Note: there is a space between sfc and /scannow
  • This should replace any corrupted/missing system files and will hopefully fix things.
If the above did not help, try posting here as this may be a windows issue.

Thank you, Ken. I have run CC Cleaner with no change. Before I run scannow, please tell me if I should do it in safe mode, or with spyware and virus programs disabled. Four your info, IE works in safe mode.

You can run it in normal windows and there is not need to disable anything. You won't know if it fixed anything either, the program will just end, just takes about 5 minutes or so. What it will do is check all your windows files and replace any that are corrupt or missing. If it didn't help then you need to post in Other Computer Problems as this forum is for removing Malware and Viruses.
