IE started asking for permissions through Zone Alarm. I'm lucky to be online right now. Been having problems for a day now.

Hi RustyKeys My name is silver and I'm currently looking over your log. Please hold on while I research a fix for you.
Hi RustyKeys,

Please tell me exactly what Zone Alarm is reporting with regard to IE, and whether you experiencing any other symptoms.

Please open Start->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs, and consider these uninstalls:

You have two antivirus programs installed - AVG and eAcceleration Stop-Sign. Only one antivirus program should be running on a machine as they can conflict and cause system problems. AVG is a very reputable and reliable program, and Stop-Sign has a very poor reputation and has been listed as a rogue application, see here for more information. Therefore eAcceleration Stop-Sign should be removed, please find it on the list and select Remove.

You have a program called WeatherBug installed on your computer. It is not malware but it has been labelled so in the past and there is current debate as to it's status. I recommend you remove this program for these reasons and because there are free alternatives which are known to be clean such as Weather Pulse and Weather Watcher. To uninstall, look down the list for Weatherbug and click Remove

You have Logitech Desktop Messenger installed on your system. This is a background process which can access the internet without your knowledge or consent. Although it can assist in providing software updates for your Logitech hardware, it uses resources on your machine and the fact that it accesses the internet without your approval is potentially dangerous. I recommend you remove this program, to do so, find Logitech Desktop Messenger and select Remove

You should also uninstall all versions of Java Runtime (J2SE Runtime Environment…) as they are outdated and now a security risk. You can download and install the newest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE), from here:
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

When you are done, close Add/Remove Programs.

Next, open HijackThis, choose Do a system scan only and place a checkmark next to the following lines (if present):
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…/search/ie.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…//www.yahoo.com
F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\WINDOWS\system32\Userinit.exe

The Pando Internet Explorer plug-in is ad-supported and I recommend you remove it, to do so please check this line:
O2 - BHO: CInterceptor Object - {38D3FE60-3D53-4F37-BB0E-C7A97A26A156} - C:\Program Files\Pando Networks\Pando\PandoIEPlugin.dll

You have the investors.com domain in your Internet Explorer Trusted Zone. I have no reason to believe investors.com is a malicious site, but SiteAdvisor gives this site a bad report and security settings which apply to websites that are in the Trusted Zone are much more permissive than normal, so I strongly recommend you remove this site from your Trusted Zone, please place a check-mark next to this line:
O15 - Trusted Zone: http://www.investors.com

You have an ActiveX control installed from a website which has been accessed directly by IP address and about which I cannot find much information. Do you know anything about this? Unless you know about this ActiveX control and trust it, please place a checkmark next to this line:
O16 - DPF: {90C9629E-CD32-11D3-BBFB-00105A1F0D68} (InstallShield International Setup Player) - http://72.32.179.44/filter/cameraviewer/isetup.cab

Then close all open windows apart from HijackThis, press Fix checked, OK the prompt and close HijackThis.

Next, please do an online scan with Kaspersky:

Open Kaspersky Online Scanner in Internet Explorer

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky,
Click Yes.
  • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT and then Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
    Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
    • Scan Options:
    Scan Archives Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan:Select My Computer
  • The program will start to scan your system.
  • Once the scan is complete, click on the Save as Text button and save the file to your desktop
Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the accept button of the license, click on the Zoom tool located at the right bottom of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license is accepted, reset to 100%.

Once complete, please post the Kaspersky log along with a new HijackThis log, and let me know the details of any symptoms you have been experiencing.
Hi RustyKeys, How are you getting on? If the instructions are unclear or something isn't working, please let me know before proceeding.
