I have noticed that something is automatically sending and receiving packets from my laptop. (please note I am not an expert at this stuff) My gaming flatemate identified this after I said I was not using the internet but he identified that our router was working its butt off. He said he closed all ports on the router and the activity was still there. (I am not sure if that is possible but anyway)
I stopped all internet activity with zone alarm (on my laptop) but it is still sending and receiving packets.
In preperation for this forum I did the AVG 7.5 virus search and the result amoung other problems was to quarentine ndis.sys (system32/driver) I did this with the expected result that I had no ethernet card anymore. I then tried to use the ndis.sys file from my windows CD but this file would not work. I thus reversed the quarentine for this file and of course I am now able to use the ehternet card again. (I was unable to save this log).

I then did another AVG 7.5 search the next day and the result i saved for you. ( i cannot see how to attach a file)
