I consistantly find my desktop lagging badly when using any of my photoshop programs. It has never acted like this before and I've been using these programs for years. I keep my open image files to 1 to 2 at a time, never run any other programs while Im working, trying to keep my resources down as much as possible to prevent things like this from happening. The same applies to my yahoo browser too... when it hangs up I immediately check task mgr to find out what programs/processes are working overtime and it's always these two(Photoshop.exe & ybrowser.exe). And they are using 99% when it happens. I run regmechanic often, as well as ad aware, spybot, ccleaner, atfcleaner, and CA's antivirus all the time. Also I keep all temp files/cookies cleaned out daily. I did run Panda's Activescan last night and it only found 55 or so spyware files which I dumped.

I try to follow up on all your tips and advice to other forum posts to do what I can to fix it myself, but this time....I'm stuck

I really need some help when you get a chance to look over my log

thanks for your time.

Welcome to Tom Coyote . Sorry about the delay in responding but we are as most times just overwhelmed with logs.

It looks like you have a Rogue Spyware program installed that is messing around with your LSP chain that effects your internet connection.

Armor2net personal firewall , (possibly contains or is related to an anti-spyware product known as ArmorWall, which is considered a rogue anti-spyware app. here - http://www.spywarewa...nti-spyware.htm ) Look under Amor Wall.

We just can't uninstall this program, we need to fix your LSP chain first.

Winsockxpfix
Your malware infection is playing around with your internet connection, I want you to download this program to your desktop and in the event of running LSPfix you lose your connection, run this tool to repair it.

  • Please download LSPFix
  • Disconnect from the internet.
  • Go to where you downloaded LSPFix and run the LSPFix.exe by double clicking on it.
  • Check the I know what I'm doing box.
  • In the Keep box you should see one or more instances of netdog.dll
  • Select every instance of netdog.dll and move each one to the Remove box by clicking the >> button.
  • When you are done click Finish.
LSP Tutorial <-- If you need it.

Reboot and post a new HJT log and lets see if this fixed your problem.

here's the latest HJT for you to review. Thanks again for taking time out to help me with this.

Good Morning, :D

You ran what I said backwards, you were to run LSPfix first and and remove that bad file and in the event you lost your internet connection then you where supposed to run Winsockxpfix But it looks like it gone <_<

Open HijackThis > Do a System Scan Only, close your browser and all open windows, the only program or window you should have open is HijackThis, check the following entries and click on Fix Checked.

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapp.../search/ie.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapp...//www.yahoo.com

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =

If you set these yourself or a systems administrator set them then leave them be otherwise fix them also

O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions present
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

You can try uninstalling Armor2net personal firewall if its present

The rest of your log looks fine

To be on the safeside, run the free online virus scanner from Panda, its important that I see the report as it may point to something bad. If it looks ok than this may be a software or windows issue and at that point I can direct you to some windows support sites .

Run Panda's ActiveScan from here and perform a full system scan.
  • Once you are on the Panda site click the "Scan your PC" button
  • A new window will open...click the big "Check Now" button
  • Enter your Country
  • Enter your State/Province
  • Enter your e-mail address and click send
  • Select either Home User or Company
  • Click the big Scan Now button
  • If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
  • It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It will take a couple minutes)
  • If you are on a slow connection it will take about 15 minuites for the scanner to load.
  • Click on "Local Disks" to start the scan
  • Once scan is done, click "see report" then "save report"
  • Save the log someplace you can find
  • 12. Reboot
  • Post the Panda scan results in your next reply

Post the Panda Report and a New HJT log please.

Your log looks fine

Go to C:\program files\armor2net and delete the whole folder if its still present.

regmechanic <-- This is a legitimate program but watch out when your fooling with the registry, this program may have removed something it should not have. I have been fooling with computers since Microsoft Windows 3.1 and have never had much use for registry cleaners. CCleaner and ATF cleaner are fine to run.

Are you still having problems with your applications? If so I can direct you to some windows support sites that deal with those issues as this forum is for removing malware only. Let me know how your doing.

Ken :D

calcat22,

Not sure what to tell you on SPYSUBTRACT , it was just bought by Trendmicro which is a very legitimate company , one of the leaders in the Anti Virus industry but I have never used the program myself.

AVG Anti Spyware is your to keep after the trial, you will still be able to check for updates, run scans and remove what it finds, you will just lose the background guard feature.

Glad things are working better for you.

If you feel in the future that you need windows help you can post in our forum for Other Computer Problems

Malware Complaints
Are you mad ? I mean really mad, seething mad, so mad your ready to spit, mad that you have taken your hard earned dollars to buy a computer only to have some Miscredents, Dirt Bags and Cyber Criminals install a malicious program on your computer without your knowledge or consent. You can post your complaint at the above site. If you live in the U.S.A. you can also report your grievance to your State Attorney Generals Office and the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Consumer Protection.

How did I get infected in the first place ? Read these links and find out how to prevent getting infected again.

Here are some free programs to install, don't leave home without them
  • Spybot Search and Destroy 1.4
Check for Updates/ Immunize and run a Full System Scan on a regular basis.
  • Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.06
Check for Updates and run a Full System Scan on a regular basis.
  • Spyware Blaster It will prevent most spyware from ever being installed.
  • Spyware Guard It offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • Win Patrol This program will warn you when any changes are being made to your system and give you the option to deny the change.
  • IE-Spyad
IE-Spyad places over 4000 web sites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
  • Firefox 2.0 It has more features and is a lot more secure than IE. It is a very easy and painless download and install, it will no way interfere with IE, you can use them both.
  • Zone Alarm Here is a free Firewall from Zone Labs, I wouldn't access the internet without it.
Thanks for stopping by Tom Coyote , I'm glad I was able to help you. :D
