welcome back to the TC Forums.

I have read your log. Let me suggest you copy and paste these instructions into word pad, and print it out so you can follow the steps in order.
Please read through this post since I am asking you to download specific software to assist you.
There is some work to do here. First don't delete anything till asked to.
FIRST:
SpywareDoctor

Spyware Doctor's OnGuard protective functionality may interfere with certain HijackThis fixes we need to make. Please follow these instructions to disable it:

To deactivate Spyware Doctor's OnGuard Tools

1. From within Spyware Doctor, click the "OnGuard" button on the left side.
2. Uncheck "Activate OnGuard".

You can reenable it once your system is clean.
NEXT:
Lets start here:
Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

• Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
• Click the Scan for Vundo button.
• Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
• You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
• Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
• When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
• Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

Lets try the vundo fix again, but forget the way I told you before. Lets do it manualy now:

vundofix Manual
Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
Get it here:

Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
You will first be presented with a warning.
It should look like this

VundoFix V2.15 by Atri
By using VundoFix you agree that you are doing so at your own risk
Press enter to continue....

At this point press enter one time.
Next you will see:

Please Type in the filepath as instructed by the forum staff
and then press enter:

At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):
C:\WINDOWS\system32\COMS32.dll

Press Enter to continue with the fix.
The fix will run then HijackThis will open, if it does not open automatically please open it manually. In HiJackThis, please place a check next to the following items

With out it you couldn't get windows updates.
I see only one more thing to do is open your HJT and put a check by this only:

not to worry if not there. Click fix checked and reboot.
After rebooting you have a clen PC again.

You need to create a new Clean restore point.

Note: This will remove all previous Restore Points

Turn off System Restore:

Update all these programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed regularly. Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released.

Mschroe919, I did find this AppInit_DLL and subsequently removed it. It did give me an unusual warning afterword but removed it successfully. I assumed since I had reactivated Spyware that that may have been the reason. On a followup HJT run this 020 isn't present and my computer seems to be operating great. A thousand thank you's!!! Your help was fast, accurate, friendly, and successful. I can't tell you enough how thankful I am to both you and this forum for your help! Gang
