Hi please help. I'm a distance learning student and can only use my computer in safe mode, we only have a week and half of class and I'm suppose to take a test today and final next week. I've tried everything. It started win I lost my internet. TCP/Ip was not installed, I used the Winfix and the lsp fix and that restored it. I also did a scan for malware and trojans. It said it was clean but, ieupdater2 keeps coming back along 1023cr and somthing has my system in a loop because when I restart normal it hangs on a clcl prgram that loads some type of form1. I hope I have given enough information. I also reloaded Win XP as an upgrade just incase I was missing drivers or they were corrupt.

Thanks!

I will try to help you but I hope and pray you have another way to take that test!

http://www.microsoft...e.mspx?mfr=true

Did you try the Last Known Good Configuration- not sure it will help now though.

Also what kind of computer do you have?

HostsXpert

Please download HoxtXpert.
  • Unzip HostsXpert.zip
  • Double click on HostsXpert.exe
  • Then click on "Restore Original Hosts" to restore your Hosts file to its default condidtion..
  • Click on Make Hosts Read Only to secure it against further infection.
  • Close program when complete.
Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Disable Spyware Doctor:
Please disable Spyware Doctor, as it may interfere with the fix. To disable Spyware Doctor:
  • Click the Spyware Doctor icon in the System Tray.
  • Click Settings.
  • Click Startup Settings under Pick a Category.
  • Uncheck Run at Windows startup.
  • Click Apply and Exit Spyware Doctor
Once your log is clean you can re-enable Spyware Doctor.

HijackThis is being run from a temporary folder; this means that any backups it creates as a result of fixes made with it will be lost. Please create a new folder for it and place the program into that new folder.

Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Scan with HijackThis. Place a check against each of the following:
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapp.../search/ie.html
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {1198D866-158F-4652-F24A-66E33CE1AD9A} - C:\WINNT\system32\jnclgpg.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RegistryMonitor] C:\WINNT\1903cr.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IESet] IExplorer.dll .dbt

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Lxl] C:\WINNT\?racle\j?vaw.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [IESet] IExplorer.dll .dbt

Close all windows or browsers except for Hijackthis. Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Reboot into Safe Mode (unless you are already in safe mode): please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them(if they exist):
C:\WINNT\system32\jnclgpg.dll<=file
C:\WINNT\1903cr.exe<=file
C:\WINNT\system32\clcl3.exe<=file
C:\WINNT\updater.exe<=file
IExplorer.dll<=file C:\WINNT\system32\SSTEM~1\lsass.exe<=file --Be sure the lsass.exe is in the folder that starts with SSTEM (there is good file lsass.exe that we want to keep)
C:\WINNT\?racle\j?vaw.exe<= there will be other characters for the ? marks.
Exit Explorer, and reboot (as normal afterwards?)

Susan528, Thanks. I have not tried all of your fixes. In safe mode I did several scans and now have a stable internet connection and I only loaded windows controlers (another safe mode option someone suggested). Since I had to take my quiz yesterday and one next sunday, I will wait until after the quiz and then If it blows up no harm no foul. I just can't afford the additional stress. But, I appreaciate you all being around ready and willing to help. P.S. I did print your instructions and have downloaded all the files. I will post next week on what happens. Thanks again!!!!

Hi cocoa07, I am glad that you will be able to let this wait and devote your time to your quizes. I wish you the best! Hope to hear from you next week when those quizes are over.
