Ok, now we know that file is 100% bad and I believe its related to a trojan infection called Vundo. So I need you to do two things.
Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop
Now do this
Hijackthis 1.99.1
Its important that Hijackthis is installed in its own permanent folder for backup purposes.
Then this
There are infections being written to evade Hijackthis, so go to where you have HJT installed and right click on the HJT Icon [external image: Posted Image] and rename it to Scanner.exe, run the program to Scan and Save a Log File and post a new log into this thread.
So let me see the Vundo log and a new HJT log with it renamed to scanner.exe
Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop
- Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
- Click the Scan for Vundo button.
- Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
- You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
- Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
- When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
- Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log in a reply to this thread.
Now do this
Hijackthis 1.99.1
Its important that Hijackthis is installed in its own permanent folder for backup purposes.
- Go to where you currently have HJT installed and delete the whole folder.
- Use the link above or the links in my signature to download HJT 1.99.1 setup to your desktop
- Double Click on the Setup icon and by defaut it will unzip to C:\Program Files\Hijackthis
Then this
There are infections being written to evade Hijackthis, so go to where you have HJT installed and right click on the HJT Icon [external image: Posted Image] and rename it to Scanner.exe, run the program to Scan and Save a Log File and post a new log into this thread.
So let me see the Vundo log and a new HJT log with it renamed to scanner.exe

cmckee,
Let me tell ya, you are not following my instructions as I am posting them , you seem to be running into road blocks and not doing things correctly. Are you by chance using a wireless keyboard and mouse? if so it may be preventing you from copying and pasting the bad files in safemode with Killbox or Avenger. I suggest that you call a friend or someone who knows about computers to give you a hand as the things we have to remove are not that difficult.
Print this out, take your time and read it closely. We are going to backtrack a bit and start all over. For starters you did not rename HJT like I asked. Look at the entry in your HJT log.
C:\Program Files\Hijackthis\HijackThis.exe <–It still had not been renamed
I don't see AVG Anti Spyware installed so don't know if you even run it.??
So lets do this. You need to disable Superantispyware as it may interfere with the fix
SUPERAntiSpyware:
Please disable SuperAntispyware. Right-click on the shortcut from the
system tray, choose View Control Center (preferences/options), on the General and Startup tab, uncheck, Start SUPERAntispyware when Windows starts, click Close to exit.
Make sure you still have windows enabled to show all files and folders.
MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS AND SAVE THE REPORT AND COPY AND PASTE IT INTO YOUR NEXT REPLY, WITHOUT ME SEEING THE REPORT I WON'T BE ABLE TO HELP YOU.
Download and install the 30 day trial of AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 to your desktop.
Open HijackThis > Do a System Scan Only, close your browser and all open windows, the only program or window you should have open is HijackThis, check the following entries and click on Fix Checked.

Ben I'm sorry you think that I'm not following your instructions I'm trying to the best I can. What I want to tell you is that when I reboot in the safemode that avg resident shield is inactive I change it before I rebooted could that cause a problem as to why it is not working right? I'm running the avg right now. Don't worry I'm using my notebook right now I just had to tell you this.
ken545
I am trying to make it as clear as I can, like I said, you may need some help from a friend .
The AVG Resident shield being inactive is nothing to worry about, we want it that way anyway because when its active it may interfere with the fix and won't effect the scan from doing what it has to do.
Forgot to mention that when you boot to safemode, it loads just the basic drivers so your wireless keyboard and mouse may not work, you may have to plug in a regular keyboard and mouse until we get your system clean.

There were no program open I also looked for documents and settings\hp\temp I coulded fine it. Here are the reports you requested.

Good Morning cmckee
Hope your visit to the hospital was not serious.
You ran AVG Correctly and it removed some bad things. But you still have not renamed HJT to scanner.exe, the reason I need you to do that is because the low life that write all this garbage have written programs to hide from HJT and by renaming it , things may show up on your log that are hidden. So I need you to do that and post a new log when you do.
We need to make sure all hidden files are showing :
You can do this in normal windows so your wireless mouse and keyboard will work
Download Pocket Killbox to your desktop, unzip it to a folder that you can find
Highlight all the files with the complete path inside the quote and press Ctrl C on your keyboard.
Now boot to safemode and remove these with HJT.

Good morning my visit was not too serious. thanks for asking. I was not able to run pocket killbox it states c:\documents&settings\hp_admin\desktop\killbox.exe. is not a valid win32 application I think we had this issue before. I will not do anything else until I hear from you again.
Have a good day
Carol

It appears the download for Killbox is giving you corrupted files, this is the same fix but a different download link, it will take you to MajorGeeks website, just click on the nearest download location to you and download it to your desktop. Go ahead and delete the other one you downloaded earlier first, then proceed with the fix.
Download Pocket Killbox to your desktop, unzip it to a folder that you can find
Highlight all the files with the complete path inside the quote and press Ctrl C on your keyboard.
