hi, at first glance log looks ok as far as malware goes. there can be many reasons for crashing. hardware or software related. malware often gets the blame, but its not always the case. lets see if avg can dig up anything. do a scan with avg, then afterwards there is a way to save the report. you can post the saved avg report in next reply. shelf life

Hi, AVG found nothing. The system still crashes periodically. The reason I originally thought it was malware is because the first occurance coincided with the playing of some web based nasty German shizer video. One of your elves messaged me to remind me that your directions expressly prohibit the use of Trend Micro's version of HJT so I have posted the correct log below. Thanks, BH

sorry for the long delay, ive lost track of the post. the new search function on the website is different now.
anyway, trendmicro hjt is still beta, may be thats why, dont know really. a hjt log is just a starting point anyway.

if you still have problems and you mentioned a video lets try smitfraudFix:

download smitfraudFix to your desktop:

Extract all the files to your Destop. A folder named SmitfraudFix will be created on your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press Enter

it will scan your computer, looking for certain files.
when done it will create a log named: rapport.txt on your C: drive

please post the saved smitfraud text.
