Hi Phil and welcome to the forums. Yes, it does appear to be Vundo and I believe it is trying to hide from HJT. Please rename HijackThis.exe to something else like Seemore.exe (or anything, just keep the .exe part). Post a new log for review. Regards, Dave
Thanks Dave.
How do you know its Vundo?
Here is another log after renaming HJ.

All the best
Phil
Hi Phil,

How do you know its Vundo?

2 Main indications
1. Your AVG log
2. And look at the difference between your log before and after renaming HJT. In the original log there were no 02 or 020 entries, which is another big tipoff. Vundo sometimes hides those to hide itself.

Please download
VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click Yes
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from Click the Scan for Vundo button when VundoFix appears at reboot.

Peace,
Dave
Hi Dave

Phil
Hi Phil,

I ran VundoFix 6.3.19 tonight and no infected files found??

No, on the contrary. The first time you ran it the tool found and fixed several items :thumbup:

Time for some cleanup.

We need to make sure all hidden files are showing so please:
* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.
Please reverse this process once the fix is complete.

———————————————————————————————–

Run HijackThis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {06638AC7-C498-46EE-A609-0BB4F7992FE6} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\jkkli.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {9A929B2A-66C4-454A-A0A3-3A9A3B8D4EDe} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\lmherabs.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {D05DF36B-028B-42FE-BE1B-3572A40E3B6f} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\lmherabs.dll (file missing)
O16 - DPF: {288C5F13-7E52-4ADA-A32E-F5BF9D125F99} (CR64Loader Object) - http://www.miniclip.com/zenpuzzlegarden/mi…pGameLoader.dll
O20 - Winlogon Notify: gebyaww - gebyaww.dll (file missing)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: ssqomlj - ssqomlj.dll (file missing)

Then close all windows except this one and press Fix checked.

——————————————————————————–

Using Windows Explorer delete the following files in bold text if found:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\jkkli.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\lmherabs.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\gebyaww.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ssqomlj.dll

Download ATF (Atribune Temp File) Cleaner© by Atribune to your desktop.

Double-click ATF Cleaner.exe to open it.

Under Main select the following:
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

If you use Firefox:
Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click NO at the prompt.

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time.

———————————————————————————

Please go Here and do an online scan. Let it fix any infections.
Let me know what is found.

After scan, reboot and post a new HijackThis log.

Also let me know how the computer is running now.

Peace,
Dave
Hello Dave

PC seems a bit better. Not getting messenger problems and no spurious WinFix adverts.
