Requesting Help with HijackThis log

The following is the HijackThis log that I got after scanning with the program. My main problem is that almost every different page I go to on the internet a popup trying to get me to download or buy malware removers (which I'm sure are fake) comes up. That along with anything else that may be wrong in the log would be helpful and appreciated.

Hello and Welcome to the forum.

I suggest you do this:

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Open the HijackThis Folder. Find the file HijackThis.exe, Right Click on the file and Select Rename. Rename Hijackthis.exe to Spyware.exe.

Post a new HijackThis Log.
Alright I did what you suggested, so here is the new HijackThis log:

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Ok, I have a question about removing the Viewpoint. In the Add/Remove Programs list there is a Viewpoint Manager, Viewpoint Media Player, a Viewpoint Toolbar, and something else called VSAdd-in for Internet Explorer (it shows no file size) that I felt that I needed to ask about. Do I remove all three of the "Viewpoint" programs?

For the rest, my computer is going much faster (though still not as fast as it used to), hasn't crashed again, and I also don't have the flood of pop ups anymore. Before I also had a problem with something stopping the Windows Sound service thing and I had to start it manually about five minutes maybe after booting up, but that seems to have stopped as well. Thanks for all the help.

there is a Viewpoint Manager, Viewpoint Media Player, a Viewpoint Toolbar, and something else called VSAdd-in

I would remove them all. Then reboot and let me know how it's running.
I was able to remove all but the VSAdd-in, it won't let me do anything with that. When I click "remove" the window just flashes and nothing happens. Otherwise the PC seems to be running ok.

This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works. It will create a file named:
c:\rapport.txt

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Please post:

Nothing there so the VSAdd-in isn't active.
If you can give me the exact location, we can try to remove it. Like C:\VSAdd-in.dll

If noting else.

You can remove any programs I had you install. Use Add/Remove Programs to remove if listed there:

Log looks good :D

You need to create a new Clean restore point.

Note: This will remove all previous Restore Points

Turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn it back on.

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Remove the Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Check "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, Uncheck "Show hidden files and folders."
Check "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

If you dont have any programs like these, I would recommend that you get them.
Spywareblaster,
Spywareguard.

Also get a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

Only run one Anti-Virus and Firewall program.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Do not use Ad-aware if you have McAfee's VirusScan and AntiSpyware

Safe Surfing. :D

I would also suggest you read this:
So how did I get infected in the first place?
by Tony Klein
Alright, thanks for all your help. I'm a little confused with this "Clean Restore Point" though. Do I need to turn off the sys restore, then turn it back on? Do I need to manually create a restore point during or after this? Sorry, but I'm a little confused.
Yes. A new clean restore point is needed. Just follow those instructions and name the new restore piont anything you want
