Check in your Device Manager for items that have yellow or red warnings.
The PCI card(s) that do not have drivers installed yet will probably be in the catagory: (Others)
it has pci device with a yellow ? and then it had 8 pci device controllers and i did the scan for hardware changes and then 8 modems appeard from those 8 pci device controllers and now is scanning over and over and over without me telling it to do it and then it has in red my realtek thingy from dsl which i no longer use
Run your onboard AntiVirus and AntiSpyware utilities, Then Run and Post a HJT Log over in the Malware Removal Forum.
We don't analyse HJT here in this forum, but I would appreciate a link to where you do post, so I can take a look.
Best Regards

Thanks for posting the link len 7. Much easier to read and much additional information.
You have a good medium strength machine, but have a small amount of RAM.
You appear to use your machine for IM, downloading, gaming, cd and dvd viewing.
Great stress is placed on your machine by all the "background processes" that you have running, many of which are unnecessary. – 4% CPU load at resting state may not seem like much, but it can bring a machine to its knees.
As in, "my pc turns off"
_____________
Consider disabling as much as you can in your MSCONFIG.
All those items with Purple background (in your Pit Test - Windows Panel) can be safely disabled.
You can always start them manually by clicking their icon as needed.
Additionally, you have some Download helpers that are demanding resources from your machine.
Notice the Ping Loss and the poor internet speed.
I'm guessing that if you uninstalled some of your download paraphenalial, that situation would improve.
You have 256mb RAM, which was alot at one time in the past, but rather skimply now that applications have written their programs to produce more pleasing presentations, but requiring more resources in the process.
Windows XP Pro (all by itself) calls for a minimum of 384mb RAM.
Therefore, your are "time-sharing" your RAM resources, even with just Windows loaded.
Then if you open an application, it has to wait for Windows to release some RAM resources before it can load and do its thing. As you multi-task, the load and lag become greater.
You could truly help out this machine by Adding More RAM.
For the applications you appear to run, I'd get as close to 1gb RAM as possible.
You will see an immediate improvement in machine performance.
Your Security Suite - McAfee - is a huge resource hog!
While it is a competent utility, a machine with low resources like your own (until you get more RAM) is bound to have trouble.
Consider uninstalling McAfee and replacing it with a combination of:
-AVG AntiVirus (free version)
-Zone Alarm Firewall (free version)
-AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 (free version)
-Spybot Search & Destroy
-SpywareBlaster
-MSVP Host File <— many of the current advertizements one webpages will simply disappear by using this.
The combination of (free) products listed above will provide good levels of protection without having the terrible load on your CPU/RAM resources.
(just to check it out, count the number of items that McAfee has running active in your StartUp (8) !!! yikes!
Spyware Doctor
Similarly, Spyware Doctor is a great antispyware utility, but a resource hog.
It is no better than the AVG AntiSpyware (free version) but Spyware Doctor slows your machine greatly.
Logitech
Logitech installs and runs its own versions of software to perform ordinary "windows" tasks already supplied by Windows XP Pro.
Unless you are using specialized functions from Logitech for "very important" reasons, consider Uninstalling everything related to Logitech.
Worried about your WebCam.
Don't worry.
It will perform without the Logitech software.
All IM clients like AIM, MSN Messenger, Yahoo IM, etc. have built in WebCam and Microphone software.
Running Logitech on top of those already competent softwares, as well as on top of Windows XP Pro is simply - a waste.
Office XP speech Microsoft Corporation C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe
This is a virtually "useless" utility installed by Microsoft.
It enables various features of "disability accessibility" and language translations functions for speech activation that few people ues or even know about.
Still Microsoft installs it by default, and it is by itself a huge resource hog.
Disable "ctfmon.exe" by going to: Control Panel - Regional and Language Options - Languages - Details - Advanced - checkmark/tick the box that says "Turn off advanced text services"
eye candy
Windows offers shadowed, smoothed, vivid, and max color icons on the Desktop.
I doubt you even notice how spiffy it looks.
Nor do I think you'd notice the difference if you turned off this eye candy.
To turn off "eye candy": Right-Click on My Computer - Select - Properties - Select - Advanced(tab) - Click on Settings in Performance Options - Select - Adjust for Best Performance.
I sure don't know how much you use the following features, but I'll bet not much.
Microsoft Media Center Microsoft Corporation C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehSched.exe
Microsoft Media Center Microsoft Corporation C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehmsas.exe
Consider disabling them.
____________
OK, that's a bunch to do.
After you complete the above recommended adjustments, Run a fresh PCPitstop Full Test and Post the TechExpress
I'm betting that the majority of your problems with "my pc turns off" will have disappeared.
You have a fairly nice machine, that is simply overloaded at this time with background processes.
You will notice a remarkable difference if you Add More RAM.
But even then, I'd leave the above recommendations in place to conserve CPU/RAM resourses.
You can enjoy the extra "power" for browsing, chatting, downloading, gaming and your other applications.
