I have run Hi-Jack this and created a logfile. My computer seems to go into a "slow" mode after a short time of use. It only happens after I first start up the computer. Then it only seems to happen whenever it wants to. I also ran XOFTSPYSE scanner and it came up with ZERO DAY ATTACK under my "c:\documents and settings\bill\local settings\temp\~3.tmp" directory. I can't seem to find this and delete it. I though last year I got rid of this with your help. It came right back. I have McAfee antivirus but it does not seem to catch this particular virus. Can anything protect me from future occurences? Thanx in advance. Sorry for the delay
If you still need help and haven't posted at another forum.

Run AVG Anti-Spyware (ewido). Then scan and save the log from the scan.
Instructions and download link can be found here.

Rescan with hijackthis and post a new log with the results from AVG .
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Thanx for your reply, Little Eagle. I already wiped my system clean, re-formatted and reloaded everything. Took me a day but at least I know I am starting fresh. I bought into the brand new Norton AV an Internet protection, updated all my drivers and software.

Any other suggestions as to how to KEEP my system clean would be appreciated.

Thanx you again.

Sincerely,

Bill Scudero

I have run Hi-Jack this and created a logfile. My computer seems to go into a "slow" mode after a short time of use. It only happens after I first start up the computer. Then it only seems to happen whenever it wants to.

I though last year I got rid of this with your help. It came right back. I have McAfee antivirus but it does not seem to catch this particular virus. Can anything protect me from future occurences?

Thanx in advance.

Glad you got it clean.

To help keep your PC clean follow the recommendations in Tony Klein's article
So how did I get infected in the first place?

You should not use spybot S&D with norton, they have not got it fixed norton drags it's feet.
There security suite is not that good.

Download and install AVG Anti-Spyware (ewido).
Instructions and download link can be found here.
