Hello,

Symantic keeps detecting and deleting the trojan vundo. I reboot after it gets deleted and about a week later the trojan comes back. Any help would be appreciated. Below is my HJT log: Thanks

Before we start, can I ask is this a computer used for work, and administered by a technical department at work ? Some of the settings seem to have been created for a specific purpose. Do you have administrator access to this system ?

Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components.
  • Close any programmes you may have running, ESPECIALLY your web browser
  • Click Start > Control Panel.
  • Click Add/Remove Programs.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove all versions of Java.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
Then download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment, and install it to your computer.

Have you set any trusted zones in Internet Explorer, from the HijackThis log I notice you have a few - with wildcards (shown by an *) :
http://*.interaction
http://interaction.peh.com
http://*.pehlaxss01

if you have not set these please let me know. Also can you identify this domain as one you know is trusted by yourself
socal.rr.com.

I will complete the instructions you provided this afternoon. To answer your questions, Yes this is a work related computer and those sites you asked about are part of this corporation.
