A couple of days ago I began having trouble with Google search results being redirected to undesirable sites. If I cut and paste a url to the address bar it gets redirected too (usually only if it was a previous Google search result). It will frequently tell me that the page can't be found. Any help clearing up this nightmare will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!! Thanks
I ran "Fixwareout" and Hijack This (Hijack This results are below the Fixwareout results).

First you need to disable TeaTimer

1) Run Spybot-S&D
2) Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
3) On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
4) Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts
5) Restart your computer.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://forums.subrat...A...st&id=43811
http://swandog46.gee.../Fixwareout.exe
Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Move HijackThis into a own folder -> C:\hjt\

Open HijackThis, Click Do a system scan only, checkmark these and press fix checked:

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{C32CDC2B-2087-4C5A-A47B-8BA346F70F24}: NameServer = 85.255.114.77,85.255.112.91

Thank you for your response, however for some unexplainable reason the problem has resolved itself. I did all the things that you suggested, only had one problem and that was trying to run AVG in safe mode. The buttons on the "Settings" tab were not visible in safe mode. I still ran the scan and nothing was found. I was going to attempt to contact AVG this morning and ask if I selected all the settings that you recommended in "regular" mode, would they be preserved when I attempted to run in "safe mode" and was unable to find a way to contact them. Couldn't even do an update, it said the "server was not availble to serve". Soooo, I thought while I was waiting for the server to wake up I would see if I was able to do a Google search and run the results and to my surprise all was "normal". If I have any future problems I will go through this process again. Thanks for your time and trouble. Dave1943

I recommend that you should send to here a fresh HijackThis log and contents of C:\fixwareout\report.txt. So we can see how is the HijackThis log after cleaning. :)

Here are the two reports that you requested, Fixwareout and Hijack This. Thanks for replying, so far all is well and everything is still working. Don't have a clue what the original problem was and how it got fixed, but am very happy that the problem appears to be gone.

Markka, Thanks for the tips. Appreciate any advice that will help me avoid future problems. I also heard through the "grapevine" that Google was having problems that may have caused MY problems and that they have theirs resolved and subsequently MINE have been resolved too. Coincidence? Oh well, just happy that all seems to be working as designed. Thanks again for your time and effort.
