Hi all,

I have been fighting this thing for weeks now and have exhausted all avenues to find out what is wrong with my system.

Problem started with svchost taking up unbelievable CPU and then from there Explorer started doing the same thing.

It took several adware programs to finally track it down to a downloader that had been installed. I deleted that but things have not gotten better. I have lost one hard drive(not the main) since this started and want to save this one if there is a problem that still exists.
Found another instance of explorer running in system32 and deleted that.

I have turned things off, on and off again trying to find whatever the problem can be.

Sorry for the delay
If you still need help and haven't posted at another forum.

Run AVG Anti-Spyware (ewido). Then scan and save the log from the scan.
Instructions and download link can be found here.

Rescan with hijackthis and post a new log with the results from AVG .
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
