Hi,

I have been given a clean slate as far as my HiJackThis log goes, however, I am sharing a line (so that we are both online) with someone who has numerous problems, Trojan Horses and numerous other infections. I'm wondering if there is a way that I could be infected by this? If so, how do I prevent my computer from getting attacked? We were originally on a peer to peer connection and when my computer's motherboard needed replacing, we were sent up without peer to peer. Thanks for the help! Here is my HiJackThis log:

Don't exchange files with that infected computer. Be extremely cautious about email. Turn Off - File and Print Sharing! Keep your Operating System up to date. Use a software Firewall. Use an updated AntiVirus. Use more than one AntiSpyware utilities and keep one as always on in the background. Use SpywareBlaster to block nasties. With the above, you should be fine with the setup that you refer to. Best for everyone involved would be for you to help that person out with cleaning up their own machine! Best Regards, Doug
Hi Doug, Thank you so much for your quick reply! How do I turn off file and print sharing? What do you mean by keeping the operating system up to date? Does that mean keeping all of the security things that I have on my computer up to date? And also, what does this mean "Use more than one AntiSpyware utilities and keep one as always on in the background." Sorry to ask so many questions but I just want to do what you are telling me. Thank you so much!! Kind regards, Kim
