My computer shuts down at certain times and "dumps physical memory to disk", and the countdown commences. Also after login, "my document" automatically opens as well as my "ati" video card menu, which in turn slows down the login process. Any help? I have also unloaded a ton of malware from my computer with the help of this site and was directed here. Here is the link of the work that I have done thus far if needed. http://forums.tomcoyote.org/index.php?show…76722&st=15 . Thanks to anyone willing to take my case.
When it dumps the physical memory to disk, you should be getting an error code, could you please let us know what that error code is? It should be something like STOP: 0x….

this is the current message I have recieved at the blue screen upon a shutdown as described previously.
This occured directly after login and after shutting the "my documents" window and my "ati video manager".
Try running Checkdisk:
Go to Start|Run, type chkdsk c: /r, and press Enter. You will probably have to restart your system. If Check Disk finds any errors, run it again. Repeat until it finds no more errors. This may take a while, depending on whether there are errors or not and how big your disk is.
I'm also a bit concerned about the explorer.exe startup entry showing up in your HJT log, since this is normally not the started through this type of entry unless you set it up that way. This may explain the reason the "My Documents" folder opens when you start your system. If any of you Experts have a chance, please take a look.
Here's another shutdown notice at the "blue screen of death."

Hi,
Thats OK,
Now run it again, 3 times (same command) each time with a reboot in between.
Now start your machine and run the Windows System File Checker, this will check the loacation /integrity of all Windows Protected System files.
Start>Run>sfc /scannow>OK
(Note the space in the above command is essential)
The scan will take approx 20 minutes or so (there is a progress bar) and if damaged files are find it will automatically fix them. If windows asks you to insert your Windows Installation disc be sure that you insert the Windows XP installation disc as a manufacturers Restore disc is Not used for this procedure.
Report back on how your machine now runs
