There are a large number of infectious processes that "can" use JAVA Cache to adversely affect your machine.
Your first step in repairing such a possibility would be to "empty" / "clear" your JAVA Cache.
Next, you would benefit from uninstalling JAVA via Control Panel
Next, you would benefit from downloading and installing the most current JAVA RunTime Environment (6).
_______
Removing potential malicious items from JAVA Cache does not assure that all problems have been fixed or removed from you machine, but it is a good start, especially since you mention difficulty with running applications that require JAVA / ActiveX protocols.
Keep us posted with your progress.

Control Panel - JAVA
In JAVA Control Panel - Click on Settings under the Temporary Internet Files portion of the General Panel
Then Click on - "Delete Files"
Click OK, Apply to exit JAVE Control Panel
When browsing to websites that require ActiveX, you will be asked to download their ActiveX again, the first time you visit the site, after that first time, the ActiveX will be saved by Windows so that you don't have to keep downloading it.
It's a good idea to clear out ActiveX components from your JAVA Cache periodically.
Keep us posted with your progress.

EDIT: it also seems to be when i watch videos, listen to music etc too, so it might not just be java.
EDIT2: it might also be because i havnt defragged my pc in about a year because my C drive is only 16 gb and only has 10% left. iv tryid deleting stuff and moving it to F (which is 80 gb) but i cant move enough space. i think i might just wipe the C drive and start everything again on the bigger one (my dad can help me with that)
