This closed thread describes the problem I'm having perfectly and it's what I've been using as a guide:
http://forums.tomcoy...showtopic=76071
I ran the F-Secure scan and it found 10 viruses. I had it clean them up when it finished the scan.
I tried to do the next step in that thread, which is ComboFix but the program says it's been pulled and not to use it now.
I know exactly what time the problem happened with the homepage change and site redirects (2/27 at 9:54 p.m.) and here are the .exe files from the system32 folder I dumped into the recycling bin trying to get rid of this issue:
mqcylmae.exe
afroaaaa.exe
sysvx.exe
pboemaaa.exe
armjqjym.exe
gqxxaaaa.exe
nboanbo.exe
prxixaaa.exe
What's left from the 2/27 date in the system32 folder are these files:
ipv6mote.dll
runtime (system file)
nboanbo.dll.bak
main (system file)
nboanbo.dll
wtwlltze.dll
kxzxspok.dll
windrv (system file)
I'm now up to the point of that previous thread where I click in the checkbox of HJT after the system scan but I'm not sure what all I need to check off. Here's my new HJT log:
