little eagle–found out how to install the active x control I need, for panda activescan.It`s not going thru, so I can`t download the program.I am going to call the company tommorrow to see if they can help install the active x.In the mean time is there any other program you want me to download.Is there any other way to download the active x or the program.I have never had a problem downloading anything in the past.
little eagle was not able to highlight the text.Did not see anywhere to do that, so I am going to write out what I saw. the scan as you know is not like HJT, there is no print out of what they found. found 1 malware , 1 possible browser hijack attempt also files not scanned C:\pagefile.sys C:\windows\system32\config\default C:\windows\softwaredistribution\eventcache There was no print out of what the malware or hijack attempt where. Is there anything else I can do?
Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
  • Choose your usual account.
  • Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
  • It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  • When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
    (Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
  • Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log
was not able to do what you wanted.Had problems getting to safe mode your way, so I went thru msconfig.Got to safe mode, found the folder SDFIX, by going thru my computer and local C.Opened up the folder never saw anything that said runthis.bat.The only folders I saw was apps,backups and back up reg.Did I do something wrong? If so, can you tell me how to find runthis.bat
found the folder and here are all the results.

A friend , computer programmer, explained to me it is the web games that I playing.

Well I'm going to have to agree with him you may want to add some memory.
got your message.does that mean you can`t help me anymore?how much memory are you talking about? You didn`t find anything wrong with the 2 lastest scans,is that why you are talking memory.how is more memory going to help me?I don`t play that many times anymore offline games.Could I have a corrupted file somewhere, that is causing things to run slow?The reason I ask , that was the main reason, last year I needed to delete my operating system, because I had a corrupted file somewhere that did not allow me to hook up my new printer.again are we done???
I have 256 mb of ram.followed your instructions, got to virtual memory, there is no option button next to "custom size".there are 2 boxes under custom size —intial size that says-384 and max size- 768.In the box that says intial size, I can delete the number 384 and type in 768 ?? 384 is 1.5 times my memory. What do you want me to do?
got your reply.you said to set the memory at 1.5 times.is it 1.5 times the amount of ram i have now, because if it is ,it is set there now.Ram is 256, memory is set at 384, that is 1.5 times the ram.Or are you saying for me to raise the memory, 1.5 times the 384 memory that is there now.Not sure what you want me to do.To raise virtual memory 1.5 times, it would go from 384 to 576.Is that what you want me to do.
