To give you some background.I have windows xp.reason for writing is,there is a considerable lag time when I click on an icon and the response. ie. when I click on IE the response is slower then before.When I click to have my printer print, there a lag time up to 15 to 20 seconds before I get a response to my command.When clicking on a link to another web page it is slow to respond.A friend , computer programmer, explained to me it is the web games that I playing.When I use ad-aware to remove spyware I am not getting it all.That`s what is slowing down the response.My printer is a HP 2500 series.I use anti vir for my virus removal.Maybe you can see something in my log file that would shed some light on this.Thank you for any help.

Sorry for the delay :oops:
If you still need help and haven't posted at another forum.

Download and install AVG Anti-Spyware (ewido). Then scan and save the log from the scan.
Instructions and download link can be found here.



Rescan with hijackthis and post a new log with the results from AVG .
Also paste the complete logfile.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Little eagle–Thanks for writing back.You asked me to download AVG, which I did.Below are the results from the 2 scans.You asked me to describe how my computer is running now.I have not seen anything different.It is still running slow.ie: received an email from a friend.There is link for me to click on.Clicking on the link I don`t a response, so I click on it again until a get a response.All toll it takes about 30 seconds or more before I connect to that link.Another example: after a AVG scan I then click on IE. with no response.Click on it again until I get a response which could take up to 20 - 30 seconds.I have cable as my ISP.In the past everything would respond very fast, not now.One thing I did not mention in my last email was , 1 year ago I needed to delete my operating system.Once the new system was in place, everything seems to be ok until I started to play off line games.Below are the results tto the 2 scans.

Be sure to keep SunJava, updated

In Add/Remove programs click on these and press *remove* if listed:

J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4 - 144.00Mb
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 5- 151.00Mb
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_04 - 130.00Mb
Or any other outdated J2SE


It is important to remove older versions as these are the ones with the holes in them. You will be surprised when you go to add/remove to see all of the versions sitting there.

Little eagle can`t express to you how grateful I am to you for getting back to me this soon.I did all that you told me to do.Created a folder for hjt. Deleted J2SE updates 3,6,and 8 and installed update 11.Computer seems alittle better.When I click on the link, from your email to me, there is still a delay before the link comes up.Over the next couple of days I will if anything has changed.But for right now a slight improvement.In your reply to me, you said we will clean out all of my temp files later.Is that the next step?

Little eagle got your reply.Everything that you listed, I have been doing for awhile, AFT cleaner, cc cleaner, disk cleanup. defrag.Only difference was when I did disk cleanup, I didn`t check those 3 items–temp files, internet files and recycle bin, now I do.I have been using msconfig, to find what start up programs I am running.Got rid of those I didn`t need.These are the following programs that run at the beginning.Can you tell me if any should be disabled igfxtray–Direct CD–HPWuSchd2–avgnt[that`s my anti virus]–real sched avgas–juschd—MSASCui—real play–ctfmon—google toolbar notifier How do I find any programs that are running in the background, especially if they are bad?? Anything else that you may help me with would be appreciated

made a mistake, when downloading the active x for panda active scan.It didn`t go thru, so everytime I try to download panda an error comes up,saying there was a problem with the download.I went to programs to see if I could delete it from there, but its not listed there.I deleted all files from the registry, still I can`t download it.I went to add/remove, in the control panel, no help.Any suggestions on how I can start all over.
