Welcome to Tom Coyote . Sorry about the delay in responding but we are as most times just overwhelmed with logs.

Open HijackThis > Do a System Scan Only, close your browser and all open windows, the only program or window you should have open is HijackThis, check the following entries and click on Fix Checked.

The rest of your log looks fine malware and virus wise, but what I am seeing is that you have Two Anti Virus Programs installed This will always cause problems, its your call but you need to uninstall one of them via the Add-Remove Programs in the Control Panel

Run this system cleaner.

Download and Install CCleaner
If you don't want the Yahoo Toolbar, be sure to uncheck it during installation
* Click on Run Cleaner
Tutorial for CCleaner

Defrag your Hard Drive.

Go to Start> All Programs> Assessories > System Tools> Disk Defragmenter.
This is the Windows Disk Defragger, run this maybe once or twice a month to help speed up your system. The first time you run it, it may take awhile.

Run this free online virus scan from Trendmico, save the report and let me see it along with a new HJT log please.

Please run Trend Micro House Call
  • Click Scan now. It's free!
  • Read and put a Check next to Yes I accept the terms of use.
  • Click the Launching HouseCall>> button.
  • Under "Browser plug-in" Installing and using Housecall kernel, click the Starting HouseCall>> button.
  • You may receive a prompt to install the ActiveX, click install.
  • If you are taken back to the main page, click Launching HouseCall>> button again.
  • Under Scan complete computer for malware, grayware, and vulnerabilities click the Next>> button.
  • Please be patient while it installs, updates, and scans your system.
  • Once the scan is complete, it will take you to the summary page.
  • Under Cleanup options, choose clean all detected infections automatically.
  • Click the Clean now>> button.
  • If anything was found you may be prompted to run the scan again, you can just close the browser window.
  • When the scan is finished, please restart your computer.
i fixed the suggested problems on HJT, downloaded and ran ccleaner, when i tryed to defragment, it tells me i only have 13% free space and it requires 15%…this i dont get at all, because i dont download alot of programs or files, so i have no idea why i have such little space. the free virus scan you suggested turned up a blank page on the trend site when i clicked the 'scan now' link on the page.
i also removed one of the anti virus programs, and several other folders of prorgams that i no longer use to try and free up some space, but now im lost.
i did manage to get a new HJT log, but thats all i could get for ya this round…what should i do about this ' space' issue?

Your log is showing no signs of malware , do this. Click on My Computer, then right click on your C:\ drive and then click on Properties, there will be pie chart showing you the size of your drive and also the amounts for Used and Free Space. If your free space is not around 13% like you said , then there could be a windows problem. It all it shows is 13% free than that could be your problem because its recommended to have at least 40% free to have all your programs and your entire system running properly. Let me know the status and I can direct you to some windows support sites that deal with this sort of issue.
electriccrayon :D

That looks like your problem, you don't have enough free space. The recommended free space should be around 40 to 50% and yours is around 13%. All your programs are choking , they have no room to expand and run properly.

These are your options, you have a large hard drive, just to much on it, you need to go through your Add-Remove programs and uninstall any program that you no longer use and never plan on using in the future. Besides programs, if you have saved a bunch of photos, movies, documents you may want to consider buying an external hard drive like the Maxtor One Touch, so you can transfer all those things to it and free up your hard drive. Costco has them real reasonable. Another option for back up is a USB Flash drive, I have seen them up to 4 GB and that will hold a ton of photos and such.

Maxtor One-Touch

SanDisk Mini Cruzer

When you free up your drive and have room, you may want to install these free tools to keep you more secure on the internet.

How did I get infected in the first place ? Read these links and find out how to prevent getting infected again.

Here are some free programs to install, don't leave home without them
  • Spybot Search and Destroy 1.4
Check for Updates/ Immunize and run a Full System Scan on a regular basis.
  • Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.06
Check for Updates and run a Full System Scan on a regular basis.
  • Spyware Blaster It will prevent most spyware from ever being installed.
  • Spyware Guard It offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • Win Patrol This program will warn you when any changes are being made to your system and give you the option to deny the change.
  • IE-Spyad
IE-Spyad places over 4000 web sites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
  • Firefox 2.0 It has more features and is a lot more secure than IE. It is a very easy and painless download and install, it will no way interfere with IE, you can use them both.
  • Zone Alarm Here is a free Firewall from Zone Labs, I wouldn't access the internet without it.
