Title continued: rom my Anti-spyware/virus/etc or can I just "Log Off" to truly get rid of the garbage? Any help is greatly appreciated.
well, only if they find something :) your registry needs to be reloaded without the references to the offending software, and some scanning programs insert routines that run at startup, to delete files. Furthermore, if you scan with two products back-to-back without reboot, you're bound to get some error messages, because the second one is likely to detect the unfinished work of the previous one. but as I said, if the first one does not find anything, you don't have to reboot.
