The only one I see that might have something do with media player starting on it's own is this one: WMB54G With msconfig > startup> uncheck it.

After you uncheck it and rebooting, you'll be using Selective startup.
When you see the box popup that tells you that, just put a Check in the Box to not show that when you startup. That's how I run mine
I will do that and reboot and monitor how it performs. I probably will not reply back today because I have to prepare to watch my beloved Chicago Bears win a Super Bowl. Thank you again for all your time and effort on this issue and hopefully this is the end of it.
Sorry for the slow response, I am still recovering from that lifeless showing by the Bears in the Super Bowl. The problem IS still occurring. Here is my latest HJT Log.
Would using my recovery disc to re-install the whole system solve this problem.

Upon starting the computer and after a few minutes, Media Player opens. There is no media in the drives and we are not trying to open any media files. WMP does not start playing anything but when this happens you are unable to perform any other operations. This seems to last for a long time until you are able to minimize WMP and then the computer seems to work fine (like right now). If you close WMP it just keeps opening so we have found that the only way to deal with this is to keep it minimized.
