This is from a new toshiba laptop. I'm having problems playing dvd's that I didn't have problems playing before and I haven't found any other solutions.

You are running windows XP which allows you to move to a old restore point before the infection. See if you have a restore point about a week before that. To do that hit Start>control panel>Preformanceand Manintence>System Restore click restore my computer to an earlier time. Ireally don't see anything in the log that would cause it.
No, but is that something that seems to cause problems with playing DVDs. I don't remember if I had any DVD problems after installing SP2 or not. Because the computer is new (less than 2 months old) I kept thinking there was a problem with the computer. If SP2 is the problem how could I go about fixing it. Will I need to go back to SP1 or is there a work around?
