I have read over other threads about this, but mine isn't experiencing all the same problems as them. When i Run AVG it says i have the Klone Virus, but it will not remove it. Unlike the other thread i am no getting crazy popups anymore, they have stopped. What shoudl i do?
After reading other logs everyone is asking for the hijack log. I feel there is more wrong with my computer than just Klone; will someone please take a look at this.

Over the Past Few months my computer has been declining. It has now gotten where it crashes on startup if i install new programs, so i always have to boot to safe mode and run system restore I am not quite sure what to do about this. I have updated my virus definitions and scanned with AVG. It picked up on a virus named Klone, but can't seem to remove it. I have also updated Spybot and Adaware and scanned with them. Here is my hijcack log; any feedback woudl be greatly appreciated.

Alright, where to start; I have done everything i can think of to fix my laptop. You guys are my last hope before i format. AVG picks up on a Klone Virus, but cannot seem to remove it. I have run Ad-Aware and Spybot and registry utilities, all full updated; nothing seems to help. Also my computer just randomly reboots sometimes; not to mention its slowing speed, which is making it almost unusable. If anyone has any ideas or help they can offer it would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Tom Coyote . Sorry about the delay in responding but we are as most times just overwhelmed with logs.

Please reply to this thread only by clicking on the [external image: Posted Image] Button and not the NEW TOPIC BUTTON or else your posts will be all over the forum and we won't be able to keep track of you.

You have two major infections on this computer along with two Anti Virus programs running which is a no-no, AVG Free is about to discontinue the free version so I suggest your remove it via the Add-Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

Please start by downloading VirtumondoBegone to your desktop.
  • Reboot your computer into Safemode
  • Go to START/ SHUT OF YOUR COMPUTER/ RESTART
  • As the computer starts to boot-up, Tap the F8 KEY somewhat rapidly,
this will bring up a menu.
  • Use the UP AND DOWN ARROW KEYS to scroll up to SAFEMODE
  • Then press the ENTER KEY ON YOUR KEYBOARD
  • Doubleclick on VirtumundoBeGone.exe and follow the instructions.
  • Do not worry if you see a BLUE SCREEN "Fatal Error" Message, it is normal and expected.
  • When it has finished, reboot and post the log that is created on your desktop called VBG.TXT in your next reply along with a new HJT log

Please download SmitfraudFix
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Let me see the Vundobegone log, the smitfraud log and a New HJT log please
Alright, sorry about scattering my posts around the forums. I ran Virtumundobegone and it gave me this.

Unless you have a real lean system, it looks like you ran HJT in Safemode, always run it in Normal Windows as it don't show me everything in Safemode.

You had a marker in your log that said it could be responsible for installing the Vundo Infection, It may not be present but these dirt bags are getting real sneaky trying to hide there malware.

Do two things..

There are infections being written to evade Hijackthis, so go to where you have HJT installed and right click on the HJT Icon [external image: Posted Image] and rename it to Scanner.exe, run the program to Scan and Save a Log File and post a new log into this thread.

Then run Option #1 for Smitfraud, DO NOT RUN OPTION # 2

Let me see the Smitfraud log and a new HJT log after you rename it.
My system being lean is a possibility, after my computer started slowing badly and randomly crashing, i tried to clear out anything and everything. Here is my new HJT log:

Spiky Moody,

Lets run Option # 2 for Smitfraud, you are infected with that Trojan and when we are done with this one, there is an updated tool for Vundo which I am sure you still have.

You should print out these instructions, or copy them to a Notepad file for reading while in Safe Mode, because you will not be able to connect to the Internet to read from this site.

We need to make sure all hidden files are showing :
  • Click Start.
  • Open My Computer.
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
  • Select the View tab.
  • Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
  • Uncheck the Hide file extensions for known types option.
  • Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
  • Click Yes to confirm.
  • Click OK.
Once your system is clean, we suggest that you reverse this to keep critical windows files from accidently being deleted.

Open HijackThis > Do a System Scan Only, close your browser and all open windows, the only program or window you should have open is HijackThis, check the following entries and click on Fix Checked.
