Running well…Startup seems typical, programs open quickly…Looking good.

One thing I did that was not in your instructions–I clicked "fix" after checking the items you suggested in the prior post.

The only item I could not find was: O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime Probably because it was not started at startup…?

Yes

You can remove any programs I had you install

Log looks good :D

You need to create a new Clean restore point.

Note: This will remove all previous Restore Points

Turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn it back on.

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Remove the Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Check "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, Uncheck "Show hidden files and folders."
Check "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Do not use Ad-aware if you have McAfee's VirusScan and AntiSpyware

Safe Surfing. :D

I would also suggest you read this:
So how did I get infected in the first place?
by Tony Klein
I will set the restore point…and keep scanning…Probably will buy the full up version of AVG and keep with Norton. Will also scan with adaware. Norton warned to uninstall Spybot. Thank you for your expert help.
Norton warned to uninstall SpyBot? You need only 1 anti-virus and 1 firewall  You're more then welcome. Glad we were able to help Peace be with you :wavey:
Well–not so fast….Tried to turn off System Restore and when I click on the System Restore tab the following happened: first time–"Error Run DLL as an App encountered a problem" followed by "Error DrWatson…" Second time–just the Run DLL as an App error. Can't open system restore tab.
With your XP CD in the CD drive, click Start> Run and copy / paste this line in the open window.
rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection C:\Windows\Inf\sr.inf

Then hit enter.

Reboot and see if it works.
Wow….Followed your instructions…Got the note "can't find sr.sys", which the message says should be on XP SP2 disk…It's not, but I found it on my C: drive. Then it wanted srframe.mmf–which it said is on the XP disc, but it's not. Found it in System32/dllcache. About to reboot now…I hope it works!!
A bit dodgy there for a minute…took a while to restart, but I just shutdown and let it sit for a minute–restarted fine and followed the instructions to set the new clean restore point. Again, many thanks…contribution coming…
