Do you use Ares? Description Ares is "a Windows program that enables peer-to-peer file-sharing on the Ares P2P network. As a member of the P2P community you can search and download any file shared by other users. You can meet new friends in Ares chatrooms while you download"
Backup Your Registry with ERUNT
  • Please use the following link and scroll down to ERUNT and download it.
    http://aumha.org/freeware/freeware.php
  • For version with the Installer:
Use the setup program to install ERUNT on your computer
  • For the zipped version:
Unzip all the files into a folder of your choice.
Click Erunt.exe to backup your registry to the folder of your choice.

Note: to restore your registry, go to the folder and start ERDNT.exe

Click "Start"> "Run"> type in Regedit tap Enter Key

Make sure "My Computer" is highlighted

Click "Edit"> "Find"
Type in Ares tap Enter Key.
Right Click on the file if found and select "Delete"

Tap the "F3" Key to find the next entry of the file. Continue using the "F3" Key until it's finished searching.

Do the same for these:
wcmdmgrl
SpyHunter
WeatherBug

Close Regedit.

Empty Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
When I tap the F3 key after I enter Ares, there are hundreds of files found. Do you want all of these deleted, If so is there a way to delete more than one at a time. Do you want Ares program deleted from my system.
Actually the system is running pretty good except I can't download certain things on the internet, like when I go to you-tube to play a song it tells me I have a older version of media player or java script turned off and when I try to download flashplayer it will not. I tried to download microsofts media player and it could not. I have my security set to medium, any suggestions?
Maybe some in the Other Computer Problems forum can help with that.

You can remove any programs I had you install

Log looks good :D

You need to create a new Clean restore point.

Note: This will remove all previous Restore Points

Turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn it back on.

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Remove the Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Check "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, Uncheck "Show hidden files and folders."
Check "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

If you dont have any programs like these, I would recommend that you get them.
Spywareblaster,
Spywareguard.

Also get a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

Only run one Anti-Virus and Firewall program.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Do not use Ad-aware if you have McAfee's VirusScan and AntiSpyware

Safe Surfing. :D
