Hoping someone can help me. Computer overall is a bit slower than usual, but the internet is driving me nuts. Nothing appears to be wrong with my connection, but it can take minutes for a page to load. I don't notice much in the way of redirections. Hopefully, the log will point to the culprit for you experts, I really have no clue how to read the log.

Thanks in advance:

Thanks very much for getting back to me. Prior to running AVG anti-spyware, I ran spybot, xoftspy and ad-aware, removing any cookies that were present. There were no registry entries found. I downloaded AVG but the program would not allow me to update. The scan found nothing. Here is the result…. ——————————————————— AVG Anti-Spyware - Scan Report ——————————————————— + Created at: 8:20:38 PM 12/29/2006 + Scan result: Nothing found. ::Report end All ears waiting for the next move….

This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works. It will create a file named:
c:\rapport.txt

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Please post:

Other then that, your log looks good.

You can try this:

lets see if this will help speed it up.

Backup Your Registry with ERUNT
  • Please use the following link and scroll down to ERUNT and download it.
    http://aumha.org/freeware/freeware.php
  • For version with the Installer:
Use the setup program to install ERUNT on your computer
  • For the zipped version:
Unzip all the files into a folder of your choice.
Click Erunt.exe to backup your registry to the folder of your choice.

Note: to restore your registry, go to the folder and start ERDNT.exe

I recommend you download RegSeeker. Extract it to it's own folder, open and double click RegSeeker.exe to start the program. Maximize the window and click clean registry. Check all sections and click OK. When the scan is complete, verify the backup box in lower left corner is checked and click the select all button, then select all again. Then right click within the search results and select delete. Run it again and again, deleting everything it finds until it finds nothing. Reboot and make sure your programs are working properly, control panel and add/remove programs windows open, etc (basically just do a quick check of everything). In the event anything was 'broken', you can open RegSeeker, click backups and double click any/all files to put the information back. A reboot may be required for the effects to be seen. Reboot When done.

NOTE: To be extra safe you can choose to only remove the items in RED.
o.k….running regseeker now. Is it o.k. if I don't download and use Erunt? I assume with backup on regseeker, I can just use this to reistall registry values if things don't work after deletion.

That's up to you, but if things don't go right, you might be re-installing the OS without the backup.
Again….thanks so much for your help. I backed up the registry and then used RegSeeker over and over and over, etc… At this point, after deleting and running the program again, I keep getting the same registry values reported. They mostly deal with Kaspersky files….I've given up deleting them now because they just pop up again. Any comment on this?

If they come back I wouldn't worry about them. They are getting recreated by Kaspersky
