hello,

When I boot up, get an "Instant access" message. Then, during browsing, get warnings from Norton saying virus found and removed, but a Norton system scan finds nothing. Also have run Lavasoft and SpybotSD just before Hijackthis.

Please look at my log file and help me remove everything I don't need.

Thanks.

-end of log-
A few days ago, I posted my Hijackthis log, but got no response. That post is now on page 6. Even so, I'll give my advice and solution I found to the "downloader" virus. My desparation for a fix prompted me to call Norton tech support, and I paid $70 for the highest level of support. The technicians started working on my computer immediately. Using a remote connection from India, 5 different techs tried to clear the "downloader" virus with no success. After about 7 hours on the phone, they finally connected me to a "senior" tech, and he quickly and efficiently cleared the virus. I believe my PC is free of viruses now, but my support lasts for 30 days just in case. The technicians used Hijackthis during the removal process, but deleted all other spyware detectors including Lavasoft, Search & Destroy, etc. They said not to install any other spyware tools with Norton running. I will follow their advice to the letter, and hope the "downloader" stays away.
