Welcome to the forum.

MS32DLL.DLL is worm that installs itself on all removable drives. this is what I suggest you do.

You need to enable windows to show all files and folders, instructions Here

Make sure all your removal drives are plugged in and turned on

Make sure you follow the instructions correctly and save the log for me to see, its very important that I see the log
Download and install the 30 day trial of AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 to your desktop.
  • Once you have downloaded AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5, locate the icon on the desktop and double-click it to launch the set up program.
  • Once the setup is complete you will need run AVG and update the definition files.
  • On the main screen select the icon Update then select the Update now link.
  • Next select the Start Update button, the update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
  • Once the update has completed select the Scanner icon at the top of the screen, then select the Settings tab.
  • Once in the Settings screen click on Recommended actions and then select Quarantine <– Dont forget this
  • Under Reports

Tutorial if you need it How to boot into Safemode

IMPORTANT: Do not open any other windows or programs while ewido is scanning, it may interfere with the scanning process:
  • Launch AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
  • Select the Scanner icon at the top and then the Scan tab then click on Complete System Scan.
  • AVG will now begin the scanning process, be patient this may take a little time.
  • Once the scan is complete do the following:

You did well,

Remove this entry with HJT.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winboot] wscript.exe /E:vbs C:\WINDOWS\boot.ini

If you look through your AVG log , you will see that it removed MS32DLL.dll.vbs, it also found a ton of stuff in your System Restore Program so we need to flush it all out and I can't stress enough how important it is to Create a New Restore point.
C:\System Volume Information\_restore <– All the garbage in here is what I am referring to.

System Restore makes regular backups of all your settings, if you ever had to use this program to restore your system to a previous date, you will be infected all over again so we need to clean out the previous Restore Points

Turn off System Restore.
  • Right-click My Computer.
  • Click Properties.
  • Click the System Restore tab.
  • Check Turn off System Restore on all Drives.
  • Click Apply, and then click OK.
Reboot your System

Turn ON System Restore.
  • Right-click My Computer.
  • ClickProperties.
  • Click the System Restore tab.
  • UN-Check Turn off System Restore on all Drives.
  • Click Apply, and then click OK.
Create a new Restore Point <– Very Important
  • Go to Start/ Control Panel/ Performance and Maintenance/ System Restore/ Create a New Restore Point
You can name the restore point anything you like, something that you can remember, You will have to be in Catagory View to see this
System Restore Tutorial <– If you need it

That toolbar entry that we removed (ToolBand.) is related to a CoolWebSearch infection, I don't see it on your log but lets run the quick tool to check and remove anything related to it. It will either say nothing found or it will remove entries.

Download the Stand Alone Version of CWShredder to your desktop.
  • Open CWShredder
  • Check for Updates
  • Close out the program. <– Dont run it yet

    Boot your computer into Safemode
    • Go to Start> Shut Off your Computer> Restart
    • As the computer starts to boot-up, Tap the F8 KEY somewhat rapidly.
    • This will bring up a menu.
    • Use the Up and Down Arrow Keys to scroll up to SAFEMODE
    • Then press the Enter on your Keyboard
Tutorial if you need it How to boot into Safemode

    Open CWShredder
  • Double-click on CWShredder.exe.
  • Click Fix and click OK at the prompt.
  • CWShredder will scan and clean your system of CWS files.
  • Click Next and then Exit .

Post a new HJT log and let me know how things are running now??

I missed this one, fix it with HJT.

O8 - Extra context menu item: &Sample Toolband Serach - res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\ToolBand.dll/MENUSEARCH.HTM

If this is still present, delete it , you will still need windows to be enabled to show all files and folders.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ToolBand.dll

The rest of your log is clean so I am wondering at this point if its a windows problem, lets do a couple of things.

Depending on how your manufacturer set up your system, you may or may not need the Windows XP CD.
  • Click Start>Run
  • Type in sfc /scannow, hit Enter.
  • Note: there is a space between sfc and /scannow
  • This should replace any corrupted/missing system files and will hopefully fix things.
You may need your XP disc in your CD drive for this.

Run this qucik scand to check of there are hidden files on your system that are not showing up.
Download and Save the Trial of Blacklight to your desktop.
  • Download the Blacklight Beta graphical user interface version
  • Double-click blbeta.exe
  • Then accept the agreement
  • Click > scan then > next
  • You'll see a list of all items found. There will also be a log on your desktop with the name fsbl.xxxxxxx.log (the xxxxxxx stand for numbers).
  • Copy and paste this log in your next reply.
  • Don't choose the rename option yet! I want to see the log first, because legitimate items can also be present there, such as "wbemtest.exe"

Let me see the results of the Blacklight scan.
For the sfc /scannow, it didn't prompt me to insert any cd. As for the Backlight report: 04/22/07 10:52:01 [Info]: BlackLight Engine 1.0.61 initialized 04/22/07 10:52:01 [Info]: OS: 5.1 build 2600 (Service Pack 2) 04/22/07 10:52:01 [Note]: 7019 4 04/22/07 10:52:01 [Note]: 7005 0 04/22/07 10:52:14 [Note]: 7006 0 04/22/07 10:52:14 [Note]: 7011 3256 04/22/07 10:52:15 [Note]: 7026 0 04/22/07 10:52:15 [Note]: 7026 0 04/22/07 10:52:20 [Note]: FSRAW library version 1.7.1021 04/22/07 10:53:00 [Note]: 7007 0 It still seems the same, nothing change as in the same as the screenshot in the previous post.
Good Morning,

Blacklight found nothing and your log is clean so I would suggest you post in one of these windows support sites as they are better equipped to help you in that area. I am really not looking at anything on your HJT log that would be causing that.

Here are some free programs to install, don't leave home without them
  • Spybot Search and Destroy 1.4
Check for Updates/ Immunize and run a Full System Scan on a regular basis.
  • Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.06
Check for Updates and run a Full System Scan on a regular basis.
  • Spyware Blaster It will prevent most spyware from ever being installed.
  • Spyware Guard It offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • Win Patrol This program will warn you when any changes are being made to your system and give you the option to deny the change.
  • IE-Spyad
IE-Spyad places over 4000 web sites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
  • Firefox 2.0 It has more features and is a lot more secure than IE. It is a very easy and painless download and install, it will no way interfere with IE, you can use them both.
  • Zone Alarm Here is a free Firewall from Zone Labs, I wouldn't access the internet without it.
Thanks for stopping by Tom Coyote , I'm glad I was able to help you. :D

Make sure you still have windows enabled to show all files and folders.

You need to enable windows to show all files and folders, instructions Here

Start with the C: drive.

Look in the C:\ folder (the root folder) for a file named "autorun.ini". It might be a "hidden" file.

Open it with Notepad and post it's contents in this thread.
Yes, delete the Autorun.ini file but leave it in your recycle bin until we make sure it causes no problems, reboot and see if that problem goes away
