jupk.com problem - has it gone?

Hello,
I think I have had the same problem as many others on this forum with web-pages like bbc.com being redirected.

Thank you for providing the self-help which seems to have cleared the problem. I thought I should follow the advice and post my fixware and HJT logs just to make sure it's all clear.

I would therefore be extremely grateful if someone could take a look at these and let me know if there are problems.

No need to redownload it but lets run that Wareout fix again.

Run the program, Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.


Next:
Click Start> Run> type in CMD tap enter key
Copy/Paste: ipconfig /flushdns



Once the desktop loads please post the text that will open (report.txt) and a new Hijackthis log.


If you have internet connection problems do this:

Please go to Start -> Control Panel, and choose Network Connections.
Then right click on your default connection, usually Local Area Connection or Dial-up Connection if you are using Dial-up, and left click on properties.
Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and select the radio button that says Obtain DNS servers automatically. Click OK twice, and restart your computer.





Download and Save Blacklight to your desktop:



Doubleclick on blbeta.exe.

Click on Scan.

Once the Scan is Finished, click on Next.

Click on Exit.

A new document will be produced on the desktop.

Open this document with Notepad.

Copy and Paste its contents your next reply.

Hi,
I think I managed to do that. Just one thing though - I got this error message when running Fixwareout:

2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

I no longer see McAfee anti virus running. Have you uninstalled it. If so not having an anti virus is a very bad idea. I just can't let you go off unprotected.
Or was this log done in safe mode. If so just post a new HJT log in normal mode.


Heres my usual speech for someone not having an anti virus running.


I see no signs of an anti virus program.. I suggest you get one in asap.
I will list 2 free anti virus programs just choose 1.
Never run 2 Anti virus programs together.

McAfee was just a free trial-package I'd installed to see if it could pick up the problem I was having. It's gone now and replaced with AVG.

Run hijackthis and choose scan only and place a check by the following lines if present.
Close all other windows and browsers except HJT before clicking on Fix Checked

Download and install CCleaner from here.
NOTE: Starting with v1.27.260, CCleaner installs the Yahoo Toolbar as an option which IS checkmarked by default during the installation. IF you do NOT want it, REMOVE the checkmark when provided with the option .

If you use either the Firefox or Mozilla browsers, the box to uncheck for Cookies is on the Applications tab, under Firefox/Mozilla.


Now open the program and click on Run Cleaner
( Do not use the Issues block to clean anything with this program. It is for experts only and it is risky).

You may opt out of cleaning cookies. If you clean them alls you will have to do is retype names and passwords for places you visit on the net 1 time.

I clean all my cookies out from time to time. It's not that big a deal if you remember passwords.

Please create a 'clean' System Restore Point:
The reason for doing this is in case you need system restore you don't put back all we just took out.
Right click My Computer
Then Propeties then system restore
Place a check mark by turn off system restore
Click APPLY
Windows will give you a warning click yes
REBOOT

Now go right back to the same place and unchecksystem restore
Click APPLYand OK

Make your Internet Explorer more secure
1. From within Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu and then click on Options.
2. Click on the Security tab
3. Click the Internet icon so it becomes highlighted.
4. Click on Default Level and click Ok
5. Click on the Custom Level button.

Change the Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt
Change the Download unsigned ActiveX controls to Disable
Change the Initialise and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Disable
Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt
Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt
Change the Navigate sub-frames across different domains to Prompt

When all these settings have been made, click on the OK button.
If it prompts you as to whether or not you want to save the settings, press the Yes button.
