Hi, Welcome to Tom Coyote's! I'm Angelfire777 and it'll be my pleasure to assist you in your problem. Researching Hijackthis logs could take sometime so please, be patient while I research a fix for you. Also, I have to let experts check my fixes first before bringing them to you. Please hold on.
You didn't post the header of your HijackThis log. Next time, please include everything inside the log.

HijackThis needs to be in its own folder:

a.) While in your Desktop, right click in the background > Go to New > click Folder > Name the Folder HJT

b.) After creating the folder, find your HijackThis.exe (it looks like a detonator with some dynamites). Then, drag and drop that file to the new folder you created.

Close your browsers and all open windows except for HijackThis, then click "Fix checked".

*You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lonny/Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.

*Now lets check some settings on your system.
(2000/XP) Only
  • In the windows control panel. If you are using Windows XP's Category View, select the Network and Internet Connections category, otherwise double click on Network Connections.
  • Then right click on your default connection, usually Local Area Connection for cable and dsl, and left click on Properties.
  • Click the Networking tab.
  • Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS servers automatically.
  • Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks.
That option might not be avaiable on some systems

Next go to Start > Run > type cmd and hit OK

Copy and paste: ipconfig /flushdns

then hit enter, type exit hit enter.
(that space between g and / is needed)

Finally, please post a fresh HijackThis log, along with the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt
Hi Angelfire, Thanks for looking into this for me. I have been away on business all week and this has been the first chance that I have had to access the internet all week. Please bear with me as unfortunalety the day job has been getting in the way of my leisure time. I'd just like the say a huge thank you for looking into this for me. I'll let you know how I get on Thanks again Crocc —- Hi, how are you doing with the fix?
Hi Angelfire,

I have removed the lines that you stated.

I tried to run fixwareout, it downloaded but would not run. It said that it needed an internet connection in order to run, despite my computer being connected to the internet.

As requested i have enclosed a new Hijack log below.

I dont know if there is connected to my recent problems but internet explorer will not open two browsers at once. When I go file –> new –> window it shuts down the browser that is open and then opens a new one. Is this anything to do with the hijacklog.

Thanks very much for all your help so far :)

Kris

dont know if there is connected to my recent problems but internet explorer will not open two browsers at once. When I go file –> new –> window it shuts down the browser that is open and then opens a new one. Is this anything to do with the hijacklog.

I'm not sure but you have malware on your system and they can do the weirdest things.

Please download Brute Force Uninstaller.
Unzip it to this folder: c:\fixwareout\sub

After that, navigate to this file: C:\fixwareout\fixit.bat then double click that file to run fixwareout. Your computer will then reboot automatically.

Please post the contents of C:\fixwareout.txt on your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.
Hi Angelfire,

The results of C:\fixwareout.txt are:

Hi Anglefire, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you with this (Christmas and children does leave you much spare time) I tried to: Using Windows Explorer, find and delete these files: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CSKQD.EXE However I located the file but my computer wont let me delete it. It says file is in use or the drive is write protected. Do you want me to carry on with the rest of the things you told me to do? Please advise Thanks in advance Crocc
That's ok, I understand :)

Do this first before carrying out with the rest of the instructions:
  • Open HijackThis > Click Misc Tools Section
  • Click "Delete a File on Reboot."
  • Copy and paste this into the file name box: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CSKQD.EXE
  • Hijackthis will ask you if you want to reboot, click no.
Please navigate to C:\fixwareout then double click fixit.bat . Your computer will then restart automatically.

After those, proceed with the next instructions then post a fresh HijackThis log, kaspersky scan log and the contents of C:\fixwareout.txt
Hi Anglefire,

I have carried out the various scans and have included the outputs below:
