i have a serious problem now

my pc is kicking my ip address now i've had to call the cable company twice to get it reset so i can talk with someone here please please help.. i don't know what else to do.. :(

i ran a new HJT scan and it came up with a new log diffrent from the first one i submitted..

hi rubberduck,

sounds like smitfraud. please read thru this sticky, download what you need and follow along for the fix. you can do the entire fix. to use option two (clean) of the smtifraud fix, its best to be in safe mode so i would copy/paste the rest of the directions and save them so you can read them in safe mode. the sticky will spell all of this out. you will need some downloads first:

hello shelf life sorry it has taken so long to respond ..but we had a power outage last night and it just got turned on a few miniuts ago luckly i had finished everything in the instructions befoer that occured . but anyhow my pc seems to be well again but is a little slow now maybe becauce i had to delete all the trusted sites never the less here's a copy of my HJT log and i will post my smit fraud findings and my AVG log as well . thank you very much for all your help. ..

thanks for the info. all looks good.
you can delete those files that avg has quarantined.
avg becomes a limited version after 30 days (unless you buy it) the real time protection (guard) becomes disabled, but you can still update and scan with it.
cookies arent much to worry about. you can set firefox to dump cookies every time you close it.

Be careful of what you download, and where you download it from. Many programs come bundled with extra software.You may be installing more than you think. Learn more about the program, Does it come bundled with other "3rd party" programs? What do they do? If you search hard enough you can always find a "clean" alternative to any software. Make sure you keep your Windows OS/Browser current by visiting Windows update
occasionaly to download and install any critical updates and service packs. These will patch flaws/bugs that can be exploited.

Adjust your browser settings: Change your(active x) settings in IE. With IE open go to tools, internet options, security tab. Click on the internet globe, then custom level. Set the first option "download signed active x controls" to prompt, the next two to disable. Read more:

Many exploits are directed at Internet Explorer, you dont have to use it. Try a different browser. You can have and use more than one browser on your computer.

Outlook Express with the default settings is not secure. It will run scripts, download images etc, just like a browser, but this was the old Outlook Express. Service Pack 2 has made huge improvements to Outlook, but just like with Internet Explorer, you dont have to use it.
