Hi - I was hijacked by jupk.com yesterday and it seems a lot of people are having the same problem. I've been reading the advice given to others but I'm finding differing pointers for different people so I'd like to make sure the advice is right for my PC before I go and break something
Attached is my HJT log. I've changed the tcpip setting to obtain DNS automatically but this is for an unused network card and not my broadband router so I'm not sure if that's correct.

Hi, thanks for the response.
I've done the flush dns and reset the cable router settings to obtain DNS automatically. I've also run fixwareout and my browser is now getting to Tiscali and Google which it wouldn't before. Below is a copy of the latest HJT. I must have negelected to save the fixwareout log, sorry. I can run it again if you need it.

I suggest you do this:

Download DelDomains.inf
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/DelDomains.inf

Right-click and select….. Save Target As….Save

To use: Right-click and select……. Install (no need to restart)
**Note** This will remove all entries in the "Trusted Zone"

Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Delete these Files if listed:
C:\WINNT\System32\internat.exe
C:\WINNT\system32\ib50_qcx.dll

No need to download again, but please run it.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
All done.

If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Safe Surfing. :D
