Your log looks fine

Close any instance of Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.
  • Go to Start> Control Panel> Internet Options . You should be on the General Tab
  • Delete Cookies
  • Delete Files > and offline content as well
  • Then go to the Programs Tab and Reset Web Settings

Choose a new start page by opening IE, surf to the page you want then go to Tools> Internet Options and click on Use Current.

  • Your Java is out of date and leaving your system vulnerable.
  • Go to your Add-Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall any previous versions of Java (J2SE Runtime Environment)
  • It should have an icon next to it:
    [external image: Posted Image]
    Select it and click Remove.
  • Reboot your system.
  • Then go to the Sun Java website and download and install the update.
  • Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 10 <–This is what you need to download and install.
  • If you do an Online installation, it will install automatically.
  • If you do an Offline installation, you will have to save the setup file to your hard disk and run it. Your call.
  • Then after install you can verify your installation here Sun Java Verify
I like to do an Offline Installation and save the setup file in case I need it in the future

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
  • This program is for XP and Windows 2000 only
  • Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
  • Under Main choose: Select All
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
Your system may start up slower after running ATF Cleaner, this is expected but will be back to normal after the first or second boot up

Here are some free programs to install, don't leave home without them
  • Spybot Search and Destroy 1.4
Check for Updates/ Immunize and run a Full System Scan on a regular basis.
  • Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.06
Check for Updates and run a Full System Scan on a regular basis.
  • Spyware Blaster It will prevent most spyware from ever being installed.
  • Spyware Guard It offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • Win Patrol This program will warn you when any changes are being made to your system and give you the option to deny the change.
  • IE-Spyad
IE-Spyad places over 4000 web sites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
  • Firefox 2.0 It has more features and is a lot more secure than IE. It is a very easy and painless download and install, it will no way interfere with IE, you can use them both.
  • Zone Alarm Here is a free Firewall from Zone Labs, I wouldn't access the internet without it.

If you feel you still have issues, post back and let me know
Thanks for the reply, computor has been fine but I know you can't be too sure these days. Have updated java (had always trested java with caution as I didn't know what it did) and gone thou the rest of your recommendations. Thanks again Symmes
There was a big fight awhile back between Microsoft and Sun, sun claiming that Microsoft was monopolizing the Java standard. Microsoft aggreed to remove its version from windows. When your on a web page and you see animation doing one thing or another, its Java that creating it. Click on the link for the upgrade to verify your installation and it will give you some examples of what Java does. Glad all is well and thanks for stopping by and saying hello. Ken :D
