Hi, can anyone help me? I was trying to run the Kaspersky Online scanner and after it finished scanning on my Windows XP system it closed my internet explorer 7. This error message was flagged and i quote, The installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete. This could be a result of a damaged disc or a virus. You may want to contact the author of this installer to obtain a new copy.It may be possible to skip this check using the /NCRC command line switch (not Recommended). Unquote. i clicked OK and the error message went off. Funny i've used Kaspersky online scanner before and this never happened.I scanned my computer with AVG and Windows Defended. It gave me an all clear! Can someone let me know what went wrong????
Thanks Ax238, Turns out that the McAffe Site Advisor was the culprit. It was conflicting with my IE 7. I had to uninstall it finally which was the painful part coz it's a wonderful tool!
Hi, hi007 – I've had exactly the same problem for the last 4-5 days and have only just figured what caused it about 7 hours ago – I am using IE version 6 so I uninstalled McAfee Site Advisor and all was well – but like you I thought it was a great program
I'm glad we share the view.I wish there is a new McAfee site advisor made available for ie7.
BTW you need to use HijackThis to remove CLSID keys from 02, 03 and 18, if i can remember correctly which are left over keys from the site advisor.
This is one such key under BHO (i dont have the rest saved) Please have your HijackThis list analyzed by an expert and don't try fixing anything by yourself!
