Hi,

Please save or print these instructions before beginning.

You need to disable your realtime scanners so that they will not interfere with the fixes.

Disabling TeaTimer:

How to disable TeaTimer during HijackThis Cleanup
Then, Download ResetTeaTimer.bat.
Double click ResetTeaTimer.bat to remove all entries set by SpyBot's TeaTimer.
Once it's ran, you can delete it. It will not be needed again.

1.) Open Spybot and click on Mode and check Advanced Mode
2.) Check yes to next window.
3.) Click on Tools in bottom left hand corner.
4.) Click on System Startup icon.
5.) Uncheck Teatimer box.
6.) Click Allow Change box.

Note: If teatimer still gives you a warning afterwards that some changes were made, allow this instead of blocking it.

===========================================

To disable Windows Defender:
  • Open Windows Defender
  • Click Tools
  • Click General Settings
  • Scroll down to Real Time Protection Options
  • Uncheck Turn on Real Time Protection (recommended)
  • After you uncheck this, click on the Save button
  • Close Windows Defender
Once your log is clean you can re-enable Windows Defender Real Time Protection.

Hi Christhepuma,

I see that Teatimer is back and running. You'll need to disable it again like you did before. Disable Windows Defender as well. It's important, please don't skip this step. Here is how:
  • Open Windows Defender
  • Click Tools
  • Click General Settings
  • Scroll down to Real Time Protection Options
  • Uncheck Turn on Real Time Protection (recommended)
  • After you uncheck this, click on the Save button
  • Close Windows Defender

You are running HijackThis.exe from a temporary directory. It needs to be in a permanent directory and in its own folder to function properly.

Please Click on HERE to download a self extractable version of hijackthis. Double click on hijackthis.exe to extract hijackthis to folder c:\hijackthis. It will extract it to that folder and open the folder for you. It will also create a shortcut on your desktop to hijackthis.

Please download Ccleaner and save it to your desktop.
Tutorial for CCleaner
During the installation be sure to UN-check the box for "Ccleaner Yahoo Toolbar" unless you want it

Don't use it yet.

It may be helpful to know that when you put an item in your Trusted Zone, it has pretty much full access to your computer… Are you sure you trust these sites to that degree?? If you're not sure, and/or you do not need these in your trusted zone to facilitate access, or you did not knowingly permit this access yourself, then please fix the following O15 entries….

Post a fresh HijackThis log along with the AVG AS log please and let me know how the computer is running now.
Hello

I have completed all the above as instructed.

I had an issue when i ran the AVG scan. It detected a Trojan so i selected "apply all actions" (Quarantine was selected) - it appeard to clean it, but when i went to reports it said there was no report. I restarted AVG and re ran the scan and the trojan had gone. I then went to the report and there was a report there, but it said something like "nothing to report" so i didnt post it.

here is my new log. Things do look a lot cleaner in this log now - thanks for your assistance.
